Naming such bands as The Kinks, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Clash, The Specials, XTC, Wire, Pixies, Pavement among their influences, RED DATSUN has developed a rock & roll sound synthesized from 70's and 80's roots, rock, punk, and post-punk elements.

Red Datsun are an American indie-rock-alternative band, formed in New York City in 2006. The band is comprised of lead vocalist Miller, lead guitarist Dave C, keyboardist Eric Gonzales, bassist Gui Marques, and drummer RGB.

Having released one successful album, (which debuted at 17 on a small radio station in Michigan, or Vermont) Red Datsun have also achieved dubious success with their singles, such as Devil You Know, Fort Greene, Garden State and the single Runaround.

Lead guitarist Dave C credits 1980s American pop band Debarge for inspiring him to form his own band.

Red Datsun’s early material was often compared to that of The Ramones and Pixies, while also drawing comparisons to The Who and The Stray Cats. Since the release of the band’s debut album, Red Datsun (2007), Red Datsun has also drawn influence from other sources, including XTC and Husker Du on Fort Greene (2007) and Wire and Pavement for Runaround (2007).

Red Datsun are one of the very many current American music acts to achieve virtually zero success in North America. Despite their persistent and worldwide anonymity, the band has remained protective of how their music is used in the media, refusing its use for product endorsements. According to Gonzales, “We wouldn’t be able to live with ourselves if we sold the songs’ meanings like that.” On the other hand, “Devil You Know” has been used to back film trailers for “AAIFF2007” and has been featured in Red Datsun’s debut video, available now on YouTube. RED DATSUN's 10-song debut LP was recorded in the summer of 2007 and is available on CD Baby and on Riding Mower Records. Tracks can also be downloaded on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, and on www.mypspace.com/reddatsun. All tracks were produced by Eric Bennett of The Hunt Studio (known for his work with P.I.C, SHIVA COPAL, and other Riding Mower Records recording artists) and mastered by audio engineer Tom Ruff at Asbury Media.
