Reddog has been one of the hardest working musicians in Atlanta, Georgia. Known not only as a guitar driven trio, but as a band that featured incredible talents on drums, bass and guitar.
What a few had to say about Reddog:
"At the center of this trio is Reddog, whose dark-tinged vocals and nasty guitar tones recall the best of the south's hottest musicians." GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINE
"At his worst Reddog sounds like a pre-pop-star Clapton filtered through southern sensibilities. At his best, he sounds purely like himself." TOWER PULSE
Reddog's his name and playing guitars his game. Not many players today can stretch the limits of the musical genre they love most, and improve on it.
Reddog does. CMJ NEW MUSIC REPORT
"His playing is impassioned; his deftness at picking is matched only by the smoldering intensity of his playing. In short, Reddog is one of the absolute best blues guitarists in the country today" Syndicated Writer Jim Trageser
GUITAR WORLD magazine included Reddog in an article "Who's Who of the Blues / 50 Bluesmen that Matter."
GUITAR SCHOOL MAGAZINE featured Reddog in an article "The Next Generation of Guitar Heroes."
The Newsouth Music Awards nominated Reddog for the best blues band two years in a row.
Outstanding showing by Atlanta's blues-based guitarist. Worthy of significant airplay. BILLBOARD MAGAZINE
His blues feeds many styles, and his lead guitar work is E-M-O-T-I-V-E.
GREGG ALLEN / MUSIC CRITIC
Musicians who were so important:
Donnie McCormick, formerly from the Capricorn Record Band "Eric Quincy
Tate" provided drumming and soul-filled vocals. Chris Long played bass and sang gripping blues vocals. Chris, Donnie, and Reddog performed together for about 7 years. They were family.
Later powerhouse drummer / vocalist Steve Hawkins and bassist Buddy
Carvalho also provided the thump.
Reddog was always on stage surrounded by some of the most gifted players in the south.
