Cort Basham, Charla Dell Majors, Ryan Staples, Derek Price, & Brandon Miles
Influences
We like to believe that on some level we share a muse with classic artists like Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Chris Isaak, Paul Simon, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, etc... We also enjoy contemporary artists like Damien Jurado, Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, 16 Horsepower, William Elliot Whitmore, Hem, Neko Case, God's Lonely Man, Ryan Adams, etc... so you might find a hint of their influence in our work from time to time.
We also find inspiration in rural Kentucky, fishing, little country churches, Nehi Grape soda, mom and pop stores, farmland, long morning runs, Charlton Heston, Twin Peaks, etc...
Redfoot is a folk rock / americana band from Bowling Green, KY founded in 2006 by Cort Basham, a teacher at Western Kentucky University, and several friends living in the area at that time including former founding members of Stellar Kin Derek Price and Brandon Miles. Their debut full-length album "Winnowing Fork" was released on Bad Apple Records on November 30th with a very successful release concert on campus at WKU. They are currently booking weekend gigs and traveling where they can while writing material for their follow up record which will hopefully be released in early 2009.
Hey guys, this is Eric from Indie Vision Music. I just reviewed Winnowing Fork, so I thought I'd share the link here for anyone who might be interested in reading it. Thanks.
This specially compiled 4 CD Box Set from Time Life features the best Folk Rock songs from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s! Includes 71 Songs That Defined An Era and Influenced Generations... In Stores September 11
Not just another genre, folk rock was born as a statement—of purpose, of taste, of superiority—the baby boom’s first imprimatur, a musical mission and a personal battle cry in a divisive time of racial tension and escalating war. For a generation of philosopher dropouts and drug-inspired visionaries, it was also the best way to partake in the era’s hippest form of artistic expression, in numbers previously unknown to man.
Notes: Despite its name ("liver cheese" in German), this Bavarian specialty contains neither liver nor cheese. It's a pork, beef, and veal meatloaf with the color and consistency of bologna. Germans like to fry thick slices of it and serve them with potatoes. Substitutes: bologna
Thanks for the add! Also Crystal Lynn has two brand new songs up on her myspace that she has recorded Monday. So go ahead and check them out. God Bless!
