Influences
My influences are so eclectic. Safe to say the majority of the time I listen to the CD collection and will play what my mood predicts. At the moment a lot of Pat Metheny, then tomorrow it will be the Isley Brothers, Donald Fagen/steelydan , Wes Montgomery, the Brecker Bros.
........and who can forget the faithful brandenberg concertos........a Abinonis beautiful oboe concerto in C....and I could go on but I won't. Maybe I will....J horovitz is good.......a bit of Alan Holdsworth. Frank Zappa!.

DAVE PLOTEL:
After a childhood spent listening and learning to appreciate many different kinds of music, especially Jazz, Dave’s career as a guitarist began in his mid teens backing American Soul Artists (Ben E King, Arthur Conley, Percy Sledge, The Platters, Jimmy Helms etc.) on tour in the UK and Europe - he schlepped up and down motorways in the time-honoured fashion. Guitar player with the real thing for three years, He was with them when their first No 1 hit broke (You To Me Are Everything) left to pursue a solo situation.
In his time he has has been involved with Gospel music scene. Involved in a lot of session work both live and in the studio - including a song with Stevie Wonder on Charlenes single Used to Be.
Running Salvadors Jazz Club in Notting Hill, London, Dave booked some of the UKs top players, including Alan Barnes, Dick Pierce, Jim Mullen, Kathy Stobart, NYJO, and old acquaintance John Ethridge...
After a spell of writing and recording and a brief flirtation with the pop chart, with pietro dinzee .The 90s found him playing Jazz Duos, and spending time in Miami Florida.
Back in England he played on Josie James album Candles , produced by Nigel Martinez, and backed her at her UK appearance at the Jazz Cafe. At the same time he was beginning to write and record ambient music, which has been very successful and is sold all over the world.
In the noughties he has been found playing in Paris France (the famous Duc de Lombard club) and around London while developing the ideas which became the Red Hat album.
A eureka moment suddenly came with writing his own compositions, with such eclectic influences he managed to fuse it all together, and continues prolifically, RED HAT being the first installment

I added a new song to the player. It’s called “Frantic Freedom”.
It’s a live studio groove rock jam that’s funky as hell! Think of Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady” on steroids, and you’ll have a good idea of what’s in store for you when you hear the song. There’s also a companion live video for the song. And in the video I do my upside-down guitar thing. Ya gotta see it!!
Also, I added another video called “a little bit of my history”, in which I talk about some of the things that shaped me as a guitar player.
Hi Dave, You are right I had a listen to Magic and indeed loved it!!! Other tunes are beaut too. Tasty guitar playing!!!! Glad you like Tom Dooley - -it is of course from another era, recorded in a spare 20 minutes at the end of a Harmony Grass session trying to get enough tracks together for the album (after at last securing a 'hit'!!!!)There are a couple of 'off' moments, but no time to redo, recorded mixed and that was it! Also nodded in agreement at the Fagen comments!!! TR
Hey Dave, Some great new stuff - I haven't MySpaced for such a while - too bloody busy - but I thought it about time I saw a few SpaceFriends..... you're doing well and I really like your new sounds (not meaning to sound gushing, tho').............. hope you're OK. Tra-la-loodle Rob

All is well, just working on 'band' stuff right now. I have ideas but no time to really sit down and start the whole programming, recording thing. Soon though.
