During the month of February 2009, The Preservation Framer is thrilled to announce the arrival of Steph Silvi, an Internationally Recognized Painter specializing in Brilliant Abstracts. You are cordially invited to Steph's Artist's Reception on Saturday, February 7th from 7 to 10pm. This event is free of charge and would make both a great date night as well as a great night out with the family. We will have an assortment of delicious wines and decadent cheeses, as well as Live Entertainment provided by DJ Austin-ta-tious, who specializes in digital break beats and deep house electro. Steph Silvi received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 1999. She lived in Brooklyn for a year while a member of The Atlantic Gallery in Soho. Steph's art is very intuitive. She has always felt the need to create and feels most like herself while surrounded by her paints and a plethora of tape. Both free form and organic, Steph takes a stream of consciousness approach to her art, focusing not only on the end result, but on the curiosities and intricacies of the process itself. She believes that if one spends too much time analyzing and defining, what, in fact, is "beauty", then the entire creative process is jeopardized. Steph is currently a corporate art member of The Decordova Museum in Lincoln, MA and Erdreich White Fine Art in Boston, MA. Her paintings reside in several businesses and homes throughout the world, including the US Embassy in Kampala, Uganda. Steph continues to be a working artist, and lives in Rhode Island.
