Poudrier graduated from UMASS Amherst in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education Cum Laude. He performed many classical pieces on marimba including a high profile concert for the M.E.N.C. Conference in Miami as well as performing George Crumb’s “Ancient Voices of Children” with Pro Music Moderna under the direction of Dr. Charles Fussell.//
Teachers include Royal Hartigan, Bob Moses, Adam Nussbaum, Yoron Israel, John Ramsay, Keith Copeland, Bob Gullotti, and Fred Buda. Poudrier’s prowess also extends beyond the drumming world where he is an active composer, plays the Irish Uilleann Pipes, and is a skilled Bodhran player.//
