Red Horse Rocks!
This Battle of the Bands event will take place on April 20, 2008 from 1pm to 9pm at Camp Perry, 200th RED HORSE Squadron, Port Clinton, OH. This event will be put on by the 200th Red Horse Squadron and the Leadership of Ottawa County.
The event will kick off with a Job Fair- Now is the time to get your applications in for Summer Jobs!! To assist you, there will be classes for resume building, interview skills and much more. Be prepared!! Be ready!! This will assist you in getting the job you want.
More than a dozen area employers will staff the region-wide Job Fair for current open positions for summer employment and community service information.
Companies include:
Sears; Lowe’s; Pizza House; Bassett’s; Jet Express; Terra Community College; United Way of Ottawa County; Ottawa County 4-H; Ottawa County Humane Society; Ottawa County Habitat for Humanity; TDH; The Job Store; and the National Bank of Oak Harbor will be on hand to recruit area teens.
Ottawa Co. wants to know, "What is the Pizza Choice of Teens?"
Join us for a Pizza Challenge.
Nearly a half-dozen area pizzerias are competing for the crown and include:
Marco’s/Port Clinton, Marco’s/Genoa, Pizza House, Cameo Pizza, Blackberry Taven, Happy Hour, Porky’s Pizza Trof, and Lagoon Saloon.
Area restaurants will have free pizza for you to sample and vote for the "BEST PIZZA OF OTTAWA CO."
Be part of our Guitar Hero Competition!! Compete to your favorite songs on XBox 360; Great prizes will be awarded to the best players.
Awards will be given to the top 3 winners
1st place: $100 gift card + $100 Terra Scholarship
2nd place: $ 50 gift card + Guitar Hero Book
3rd place: $25 Gift Card + Guitar Hero Book
We will end the day with the "Battle of the Bands." Join us to hear some of the best local up and coming musicians. Only 6 bands have signed up for the competition so yes, We Need YOU! Judges will award Cash and Gift prizes for both Guitar Hero and Battle of the Bands.
The top 3 winners of battle of the bands will recieve:
1st place: $ 500 + United Way + 2 $100 Terra Scholarships + maybe 4 $25 Gas/gift Cards
2nd place: $300 + 2 $ 100 Terra Scholarships + maybe a $50 gas/gift card
3rd place: $200 + $ 25 GAS card

Musicians of all Genres are invited to REDHORSE ROCKS OTTAWA County Sunday, April 20th. BRING your BAND and compete for some large CASH Prizes. RED HORSE of Ottawa County is looking for Teen and College Bands across OHIO and beyond!
Bring your Friends Teenage Friends, ages 14-19. . . and come on out to Camp Perry as Red Horse Air Squadron as members of the Leadership Ottawa County rock the teens from the Historic Outhouse of Genoa to the Historic Marblehead Lighthouse. Ottawa County Youth Groups are encouraged to attend!

Battle of the Bands. . . FAQ’s
Prizes: Yes, certainly there will be prizes. CASH Prizes and more! There will also be door prizes and giveaways for the audience members too!
Eligibility: Bands, musical groups and duos consisting of two or more members, performing live music on stage are eligible. Sorry, no solo artists. Musicians from all genres are encouraged to enter. Rock, Hip Hop, Alternative, Country, Bluegrass, Christian, Punk, Reggae, Blues, Jazz, Heavy Metal and Rappers
Age: Band members must range between 16 to 26 years of age to be eligible for competition.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three bands performing. Entry Form must be received by April 8th! This event will be held indoors at the RED Horse Air Guard Gymnasium. Their base is located within Camp Perry in Port Clinton OHIO.
There will be two stages located in the RED HORSE Gym. Bands will alternate stages.
Bands will each have a maximum 30 minute set. Bands will be cut at 30 minutes. Bands will alternate stages, each band will be given a 30 Minute set and Set up time.
Bands MUST supply a band name, a contact name, address, phone number, email address or web address/my space if available, Style of music, THE RHROC team will not accept bands with songs with homophobia, or racist materials. Your audience is under 19, keep that in mind. Submitting press kits or bios and CDs’ are not mandatory but appreciated, as part of your registration package. These materials will be used for media advertising purposes, marketing purposes, and to place bands in appropriate venues. Materials will not be returned.
RULES and ADVICE: The following rules must be agreed upon by all members of the band and those rules that apply to the show must be practiced through the entire show. Breaking of these rules will result in the disqualification of the contest and any prizes.
* All Bands must include a SET list two days before their performance, please indicate covers where applicable.
* Excessive profanity or profane gestures on stage will result in disqualification in contest.
* Band members must wear appropriate clothing.
* All bands must be checked in by 1 p.m. Sunday, April 20th with the Red Horse Rock REGISTRAR
*Any band damaging PA or shared equipment( ie: swinging microphones, standing on monitors etc will be disqualified and required to pay for replacement equipment.
*Guest and friends are not allowed on state during your set. The RHROC will have assistance available for loading and unloading equipment.
*Please do not incite friends or fans to act in a way that can cause damage to property or injury t people attending the event. NO Crowd Surfing or Moshe Pits
Note: Leadership Ottawa County encourages you to sell merchandise at the end of your show. WE will have a separate room behind the gymnasium to handle autographs, Make sure you have someone with you who can handle these transactions. You can leave flyers with the REGISTRAR and these will be handed out when exiting the event.
