Feel the heat of the 1920's at The RED HOT JAZZ JOINT Saturday June 6th The RED HOT JAZZ JOINT 1920's Summer Fling hits Salthill on Saturday June 6th!
The Red Hot Jazz Joint will transform Salthill's The Office into a smoking’ hot 1920's Speakeasy complete with music, dancing and a full bar where you can enjoy all the style and glamour of the 1920's in this club setting. This month's night will be about all things 1920's! To kick things off Avril will be teaching a 1920's Charleston workshop in The Office on Saturday afternoon (full workshop information below). On the decks will be house swing-jockeys Hot Ginger and Dynamite. Keeping with the 20's theme this sizzling duo will be armed with a heady mix of 1920's Charleston along with an explosive mix of the coolest blast’s from Jazz’s swinging past. <
So make a date in your diary - this Speakeasy will be bringing Salthill alive with the sounds of swing, jazz and Charleston! RED HOT JAZZ JOINT Entry €5 (Yes you read it right! Only €5!)
One Day Charleston Workshop with Avril on Saturday June 6th Experience the fun of this 1920's solo dance !

The Charleston is a distinctive up-tempo style in jazz music and has its own dance style which became somewhat of a craze in 1920's America . Now almost a century later it is becoming all the rage again. And there's no doubting why as Charleston is one of the most fun dances to do and the basics can be picked up by anyone regardless of experience. All that is needed is your enthusiasm and a desire to really enjoy yourself while dancing to 1920's Music! This workshop will concentrate on solo dancing so no partner is required.
Avril has been teaching Jazz Roots and Charleston in Galway for almost two years. Her exuberant teaching style is focused on fun and has ensured a very popular regular attendance at her weekly classes. Avril will be bringing her expertise learned from some of the best international dance teachers. There will be something for everyone - beginners can pick up the basic moves and variations while more experienced dancers can work on styling and musicality. The workshop will be followed that night by the RED HOT JAZZ JOINT, a monthly club night in The Office dedicated to all things Swing, Jazz and Soul where workshop participants can practice their new moves on the Red Hot Dance floor of Salthill's very own 1920's style Speakeasy! Workshop takes place at The Office Salthill from 1 pm to 6 pm.
