Red Hot Pistol was formed in 2006 with the intention of pushing rock n roll forward while continuing to maintain a foundation in much of its old school traditions. Taking the cues from such legendary hard hitting bands as Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Small Faces and AC/DC, Red Hot Pistol never forgot where much of the roots of their own style came from. However, unlike most traditional hard rock bands, Red Hot Pistol decided to break the orthodox mold, juxtaposing themselves with a much more post-modernistic sound, paying tribute to more current bands such as The Chelsea Smiles, The Hellacopters, The Dirtbombs and Buckcherry.
Red Hot Pistol finishing their first album and looking to take their rightful place in rock n roll history. Like many other bands that have been movers and shakers in the music community, Red Hot Pistol’s journey has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, paying the dues and struggling to define their own sound. Yet unlike many of the mainstream bands that continue to plague our broadband and radio airwaves, Red Hot Pistol made a decision from the beginning to take a road less traveled, not giving in to any of the current second rate discourses that seem to drive the commodity of our music scene today. Just listen to the demo or come to a show and you will be a convert. Their sound is alive, energetic and full of so much of the hope in reviving a music scene that has been taken over by a toxic sense of mediocrity.
