Music
I really like all GOOD music. Ok...maybe even a good polka isn't going to interest me very much...my grandfather flipped the channel to one of the '40's stations on DirectTV the other day, and whatever polka they were playing promptly put me to sleep. What I download and/or occasionally buy consists of pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, Country, folk, jam, classical, electronica...yeah...just about anything. Lately I have been enjoying a lot of Black Eyed Peas and Beck. I tried to not like Black Eyed Peas at first, b/c the radio so overplayed them, but then I listened to Elephunk, and it is really quite catchy. My favorite mainstream artists would have to be U2. Achtung Baby was the first CD I ever bought. Other excellent musicians: REM, Widespread Panic, David Gray, Justin Beckler, Jack Johnson, Blues Traveller, the Beatles, the Coors, the Cardigans....I could go on and on. Anyways....I like music. Check out www.pandora.com it's like your own music station on the web.
Movies
Any SW movie is more or less great. Episode I kinda sucked, but it was difficult material, so I will cut Lucas some slack. the LOTR series was awesome. the Matrix series is really quite good. (BTW, next time you watch the original Matrix, try NOT to imagine that they're all gay.) Saving Private Ryan is one of the best movies ever.
Classic comedies are Princess Bride, the Holy Grail, and Office Space. I do like watching movies. Usually at home rather than the theater, but if it's a big blockbuster sort of thing, I'll probably go to the theater.
Television
I have a RePlayTV, which is like a Tivo, but better, because it automatically skips commercials! The shows I currently will admit to recording are: Lost, Nip/Tuck, Survivor, The Daily Show, and South Park. I may not admit to recording Drawn Together, Spiderman, Decorating Cents, or Inhale.
I hardly ever watch live tv...it's so much more fun and time effecient to skip the commercials.
Books
Tommy loaned me a copy of Deception Point, by Dan Brown, the guy that wrote the DaVinci Code. Deception Point was a real page turner, which makes me want to red the DaVinci Code before the movie comes out.... My mom just gave me a copy of State of Fear by Michael Crichton. I really enjoy his books, so I imagine I'll like that one, too.
Heroes
people who have taken Tom off their friends list, unless he REALLY IS your friend.

About me:
Well, my girlfriend pointed out to me that this page was due for an overhaul. I've been "AFK" for quite a while now, because I'm in the process of moving from Tucson to Phoenix. I found a better job opportunity and work environment. It's been a real hassle trying to move, though, because I keep travelling and I can't seem to get all my shit together to move out of the Tucson house! Arghh...hopefully soon. I don't have any more trips scheduled until Thanksgiving....
Other things:
I grew up in Georgia.
No, I don't have much of a southern accent, because I grew up in Atlanta, and we Atlanta natives don't really have them. However, I spent 7 years in Augusta, and every once in a while, a little drawl slips out ;)
I'm an idealist.
I think everyone should just get along, and do what's right for each other and the world.
I have a website. richlassiter.com. Yes, I am a computer geek.
I love to travel, and so far have been to every continent except Antarctica. I just went back to Australia. Consult the blog above for pics. Now, I don't know where I'll go next....maybe South America? I could use someone more fluent in spanish to go along with me! :)
Who I'd like to meet: More people that play ultimate frisbee.
And, people who think this is funny:
Hey Rich! Go to my page and click on "Sally" and check out the photo she posted of you as a freshman at a football game at Norcross High. It is classic. Take Care!
Hey Rich! I'm gonna pay my fee tomorrow for Mexico. LUUUUV Tahoe!! Worked at Sugar Bowl for a season after UGA. Just bought a Pulse snowboard set this month. Complete with EKG line on it. <>
Yup, my sister lives in Chandler. You're in Phoenix, working with Bill, right?? I'm going to be going there to visit her within the next couple of months, we should meet up somewhere! Congrats on getting engaged!
Hey Rich!! I just wanted to say "hello"..it's been a while. How's work going? wedding plans? etc etc...anywho...i hope it is all good. take care and keep in touch
Hey, I sent CLEAVE a note asking why her profile pic is so CLEAVE-less....chime in so we can get that fixed STAT!
In related news, I'm headed east. Way east. (Nope. Keep going.) Let me know if you want a big furry hat or anything....
Still haven't made it out there, bro, but I did WORK with a guy out of the Phoenix office on my last trip (3 commencement addresses, some conferences--6 cities in 10 days). AFAIK, that project I had out there in Tucson is still ongoing, so there's still a chance it will bring me out there.
btw, thanks for the pics to my phone--keep em coming, they will eventually get me to buy a new phone that can display them! <g>
The rules are: Once you've been tagged, you must write a blog with 15 weird, random things, little known facts or habits about yourself. At the end choose ten people to be tagged, list their names and why you chose them. Don't tag the person who tagged you and don't forget to leave a comment saying "You are tagged" and tell them to read your latest blog.
Hey Rich, happy birthday man. What have you been up to? Thought about goin to savannah for St. Pattie's but I'm having second thoughts now (my liver is trying to convince me not to).
Hey bro! Got your msg--Congrats on the anniversary! I'm a jealous SOB. I just got back to this corner of the world, so gimme a call when you can and let's catch up! T
