Red Murphy originated in a 200 year old abandoned house in Verbena Alabama in mid 2005. In January 2007 they made their debut in Birmingham as an all original band. Jeff, Josh, Scott, Matt and kevin played 50 plus original shows all over the state in original music venues as well as opening for a few national acts and headlining more times than not. "Bulletproof" and "Don't say it's over" got national radio attention as well as one Birmingham Station for three months in the summer of 07.
(Dec. 2008)-- After a few adjustments and changes, Red Murphy continues. Josh and Jeff are busy recording a few of the original Red Murphy songs that were never recorded from 2007, Brad(The original Guitar player from 2005) and Jeff are doing acoustic shows here, there and everywhere, and Jeff Smith(Red Murphy, The Alison Carter Band, Bus Ride), Alex Staton(Surgestone, Chromeheart), Carl Ray(Mars Electric, Red Halo, Judas Presley etc.), and Jason Marchant(Virgos Merlot, Red Halo, Judas Presley etc.) continue on bringing the party and playing Rock cover shows for your listening and viewing pleasure. Stay tuned.
(October 2009)-- Continuing to play shows as always, and heading into the 5th year, 2010 promises to be a year of excitement with at least 2 totally new musical projects spinning off of the musicians that have brought to you the music of Red Murphy since 2005. Red Murphy will continue to play shows and possibly release a new album in the future... so stay tuned. In the meantime, the first of the spin off projects is in the final stages of production and is set for release in January of 2010.
It seems that Christmas time is here once again, and it is time again to bring in the New Year. We wish the merriest of Christmas to you and your loved ones, and we wish you happiness and prosperity in the year ahead. Yola
