Future Release "THING" (June 2011)
"THING" is The Red Pyramid's first album. Originaly supposed to be a Mini-Album (with 6 songs), the continuous composition and re-composition of the last song (entitled "Love", which is a new version of the song "Love of Hope") turned into a musical odyssey. The final version, running just a bit over 20 minutes, was cut into 5 different continuous tracks. So you could say half of this album is conceptual, although, in reality, the whole album is. "THING" is a study of the human body and mind (if the cover and tracklisting didn't give it away) and, in ways, a look into myself as a human being and the world around us. Running al little over 40 minutes, I can certainly call this my first album. That being said, "Through Empty Hallways" will see a later release, and it's amazing how all this time to compose is just giving me continuous ideas. For now, I'm getting really excited with "THING". Expect to hear a couple of instrumental samples (for now) during the next month, starting next week (March 7th 2011). And now, the final tracklist:

The Red Pyramid is a project that began when I started playing the guitar back in 1998 (named "Clover" back in the day). I used to record all sorts of melodies on a tape-recorder, nothing too serious. In 1999 the release of Silent Hill changed my life in many ways: the way I think, the way I look at life, etc... but most important: the way I listen to music. Taking huge influences from the Silent Hill Original Soundtracks by the almighty Akira Yamaoka, I started paying more attention to the project...

I started recording complete songs (with vocals, bass and drums) and eventualy distributed some demos through friends and family. In 2001, as with its predecessor, the release of Silent Hill 2 caught me off-guard. Out of my love for the whole concept and symbolism of one of the characters, I re-named this project to Red Pyramid, and it's been known as this since then (recently adding "The" to the beginning of the name, due to other recent projects and bands using the same name).

Although the project takes much influence from the whole Silent Hill world, apart from the symbolism in the lyrics and one or two songs there's not much here that you can say sounds like it. Through time, the sound of the project shape-shifted from one genre to another, until I was able to put all my influences together to create something I can really call my own.

There are currently two releases planned for 2011. The first is the Album "THING", which is a collection of 4 new songs and 2 re-written ones (one of which spans into 5 different tracks). This should be released around June 2011. The second release is the previous announced full-length album "Through Empty Hallways", which should (hopefuly) be released later this year (2011) or early 2012.
