After months of hard work and planning, UK based DJ & producer Brendan Long (www.myspace.com/brendanlong), is proud to announce he will be launching his new label ‘Red Room Records’ on the 19th May 2008.
Best known for his DJing skills at some of the UK’s most influential and respected clubs such as Bugged Out, Chibuku, Pressure and Voodoo; Brendan has recently started to gain momentum in the world of production also, with recent remixes for Ladytron, Justin Robertson, The Wombats and My Toys Like Me all receiving rave reviews and plays from some of the worlds top jocks.
Long informs us the label was born out of frustration as much as anything else 'I became frustrated playing a waiting game with some of the major dance labels and having to work things around their time schedules, so what better way to combat that than releasing your music through your own label whenever you want!'.
Red Room Records plans to release a new EP every month with the tracks being available exclusively through Beatport. The labels first release will be the electro-techtastic 'Fright Night E.P' from Long himself, with both tracks, 'Jerry’s Hunger' and 'Brewster’s Nightmare' already getting plays from such luminaries as Dave Clarke, DJ Hell, Tiga, JoJo De Freq, Miss Kittin, Justin Robertson & Erol Alkan.
But it’s not just his own music Long is looking push as he tells us, 'one of the most exciting things about launching my own label is the ability to help other young and talented producers get their music out onto the shop floors and in turn the clubs. The digital revolution has made it a lot easier for people to get their music into the clubs; I want this label to act a fluid conduit between the bedroom and the dancefloor.'
Long it seems is a man on a mission. His unique DJing & production styles partnered with an encyclopedic knowledge of the more eccentric and esoteric sides of electronic music make this project a very exciting one and one that should be watched very closely indeed.
