Guitarist and songwriter Simon Caron had composed some songs and always dreamt of recording them in a recording studio and therefore producing a first album. So that his dream came true, he needed excellent musicians. Having worked in music for a long time and established good contacts, the issue was fast resolved. So, RED SAND was created in May 2003.
Besides being the guitarist of the group, Simon wrote the words and the music of the first album Mirror of Insanity, on label Ipso facto. This album was finally produced thanks to the participation of Mathieu Lessard on vocals, Perry Angelillo on drums, Ian Côté on bass and Stephane Desbiens on keyboards.
The album was put on sale at record dealers as well as on the Internet at the beginning of April 2004. The feedback from the fans of progressive music were so enthusiastic that Simon felt the need to produce a show. Many live shows were played throughout the rest of the year.
In 2005, Red Sand brought out a second album called 'Gentry'with more shows including an opening spot for 'Saga' in Quebec city. Ian and Matthieu both quit the band before the recording of the album took place. Steff and Matthieu Gosselin both joined just prior to the recording of 'Gentry'.
Now in 2007, a brand new album called 'Human Trafficking' will hit the streets on the 3rd of June with a live show at the 'Liquor Store' which will be filmed for a future Dvd.
