Red Schafer's Interests
General
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (The intelligent man’s way of whooping ass. It also has pretty much ruined my life and is the reason I am not in medical school and married)
Movies (When I am not training, I am watching a movie. My favorite non-Chuck Norris movie is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind")
Music (I need music playing at all times, usually really sissy stuff, Bruce Springsteen in my favorite artist with "One Step Up" being my favorite song)
Art and Design (Must be from my mom, but I love this stuff. Everything including furniture, fashion, painting, and photography. I love to just page through my Dwell magazine an wish I had the money to design my own house. Yeah, it sounds pretty gay, but oh well)
Potato Salad (Proof of God?)
Music
I have the same taste in music as a 38 year old woman. Fiona Apple, Ray Charles, James Taylor, Norah Jones, Frank Sinatra, the Doors, Allman Brothers, Joss Stone, DMB, Johnny Cash, U2, Jimmy Buffett, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Sarah McLachlan, John Mayer, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruce Hornsby, Harry Connick Jr., Dean Martin, plus much more.
Movies
I love movies, every genre, my favorites are... Sideways, Cool Hand Luke, Adaptation, About Schmidt, High Fidelity, Big Lebowski, Swingers, Good Will Hunting, Being John Malkovich, Fargo, Casablanca, Fight Club, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, Se7en, Matrix, Donnie Darko, Primer, Dogma, Boogie Nights, etc. I really like the work of Charlie Kaufman, the Coen Brothers, Alexander Payne, P.T. Anderson, Kevin Smith, John Cusack, Tarantino, Yhang Zimou, amd Wes Anderson. Did I forget to mention every Chuck Norris movie and Roadhouse?
Television
I do not watch much TV (mainly watch DVDs) but there are a few shows I enjoy, like 24, Lost, Arrested Development, Seinfeld, the Simpsons, and Antiques Roadshow. Of course if Walker, Texas Ranger is on I won't miss it.
Books
Do not get much time to read, someday when I settle down I want to read all the classics. Mostly I read when I go on vacation or take a week off after a fight. Here are the last 3 books I bought, no lie...

About me: Hi, I am a quasi-professional mixed martial arts fighter who studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am not very good at it. I pretty much let the other guy hit me in the face til he gets tired, then I submit him. That is why I am so ugly and dumb. It was not always that way, once I was handsome and smart as a whip. I graduated from UW Oshkosh with a BS in Biology and Chemistry, ready to go to Medical School. Now I can barely figure out how to turn on this computer. Boy times have changed... I also suffer from General Anxiety Disorder. Not sure if my mother is proud, but boy is life great: people pay me dozens of dollars to beat people up, legally...

I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!

Who I'd like to meet: Albert Einstein (His ideas on theoretical physics were revolutionary, but he also wrote great essays on social and political topics. He exemplifies what kind of influence real intelligence can have on the world)
Jesus (I am agnostic and really doubt the existence of a higher power, but I would like to hang out with him to see what kind of guy he really was)
James Dalton (Next to Chuck Norris, Dalton is pretty much the toughest man to ever live. He is the "cooler" at the Double Deuce. He was trained by Wade Garrett)
Dharma (I don't know what makes her so special, but I think she is super hot. If I could only get rid of that Greg asshole)
Christopher Walken (because he is Christopher Walken)
Marlon Brando (the young "On the Water Front"ish Brando, not the creepy "Apocolypse Now"ish Brando, well he'd be cool to meet too)
Bogart (I would let him kick me in the chops)
Paul Newman (Great actor, great humanitarian, and great race car driver)
Cary Grant (the only man more ravishing than myself, well at least equally ravishing)
That Tennis Chick (I want to make babies with her; babies that would take over the world in a wave of violence and then rule with an iron fist)
Hey Red!!! How are things going? Just wanted to let you know that your Team Red page stole my song lol!! Hope things are going great for you. Take care!
Hey Red, thanks much for the add--it was great having you as a special guest at our first two shows!
Though we're currently going thru a restructuring period to fix some management issues that were starting to take place, we'd love to work with you again when we get the show back up and running.
Thanks again and best of luck in the Alexander fight--we'll be cheering for you.
I recently discoverd this ancient fighting art...since then I have been indestrucible, unbeatable, and entirely unstoppable..I wanted to share it with you. Take what you have learned and use it well GRASSHOPPER.....
Hey Red- If you got time tonight b4 the fights, stop by across the street and grab a drink &/or some grub.... we would love to see you! - Robert aka "Bobby Hill"
Just saw the comment on Adam's page that you might wanna be Rick Astley for Halloween! LOVE IT!!! I guess I never realized he had red hair!! You also have the choices of Carrot Top (he's ripped now), Bobby Flay (which wouldnt be hard to dress up for, maybe a "Kiss the Cook" apron) or David Caruso, the guy from CSI Miami...
I thought you might think this picture was cool...it's from the Greater Midwest BJJ/Sub Grappling event that Greg Nelson sponsoed in 2002...good times!
