About me:
My name is Michael Felsher. I am the owner/operator of Red Shirt Pictures, which produces documentaries and special features for DVD companies such as Synapse Films and Dark Sky Films. I have been in the movie biz in one way or another for most of my life, but my career went into a significantly higher gear when I was hired by Michigan-based home video distributor Anchor Bay Entertainment in 2000 as their webmaster. The position eventually evolved into a sort of "jack of all trades" position which saw me being involved in various aspects of production on such landmark DVD releases as Sam Raimi's THE EVIL DEAD - BOOK OF THE DEAD EDITION, Wes Craven's THE HILLS HAVE EYES, and George A. Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD - ULTIMATE EDITION. After nearly five years with Anchor Bay, I left in April 2005 to start Red Shirt Pictures. My first full-length project, AFTEREFFECTS: MEMORIES OF PITTSBURGH FILMMAKING was released on the Synapse Films DVD of EFFECTS in October 2005. Since that time I have completed DVD projects for a variety of studios including Dark Sky Films, Lionsgate Films, Universal Pictures UK, MGM Home Video, and BCI/Eclipse. Some of our most notable releases include THE MONSTER SQUAD - 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, CREEPSHOW - 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 - GRUESOME EDITION, and the recent FACES OF DEATH - ANNIVERSARY EDITION.

Mike Felsher on CINEPHOBIA takes a fond look back at the STAR WARS PREQUEL:

(His account of seeing the PHANTOM MENACE for the first time is destined for cult infamy.)

p.s. Mike. You're going in my TOP FRIENDS list.

Its not just the things we do for art, but what we do for George. I thought doing Land was great, but the shuffling out of that damned corral is forever engrained in my head.

The fact that you "weren't surprised" when i showed up last week is starting to scare me. Either we see each other in the weirdest places so much that we're used to it or that you're saying i'm a bad penny! Either way it was great seeing you my friend and can't wait to see the finished product.

Back in the deep mists of time, my good friend Mike Felsher from Red Shirt Pictures (the bloke responsible for a lot of the special features on all sorts of great horror DVD re-issues, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 &2, Hellraiser, Diary of the Dead...and loads more) joined me on CINEPHOBIA to ramble on about FIVE KILLER MOVIE DIALOGUE SEQUENCES.

They weren't necessarily his "favourite" movie scenes - just a few memorable ones.

And I won't spoil the show by revealing the list, but rest assurred, I loved doing this show and it set a template for the sort of theme show I've done a few times since and will be doing a lot more of in the months to come (with some really interesting guests lined up as well).

The segment is called FIVE SLEAZY PIECES and basically, it's the idea of picking five movies from within a particular theme, playing select clips from the movies and just blabbing on about them for an hour.

Anyway, Mike's list was interesting. They were all films I'd seen many times and (with the exception of one) all personal favourites. But it was really interesting to talk to him about them because he possesses such great insight into why these movie moments are memorable that he allowed me to see them through a new set of eyes.

So don't be a shmoe.....
Give it a go!

And I must also thank Greg Duffell from The International Connection for supplying an archive of this show. I thought it was lost forever - but thanks to the techno-wizardry of CKLN's most notorious bad boys, you are now able to listen at your leisure to this most enjoyable little program featuring a bonafide cult hero of the horror genre! (and Mike Felsher as well!)
