Bio
..Red Shoes Boy doesn't wear red shoes ..... and is a multi instrumentalist and is a fully qualified scatt artist.. ...."I just got a copy of Red Shoes Boy’s Stagger EP and it blew my mind. They’re a relatively unknown act in Perth but the 19 minutes of dirty, distorted blues rock on the EP are all killer no filler... ..They’re a combination of the Black Keys blues guitar riffery and Ian Ball from Gomez’s husky vocal chords. This isn’t ‘boring old man in an Eric Clapton t-shirt’ blues – Red Shoes Boy sound raw and raunchy as fuck... ..The EP comes out on December 5th and I highly recommend you pick up a copy, a six pack of coldies and settle in to listen to it on repeat.".. - Whothehell.net .. .. .. .. .. ...... Sounds Like
slick tractor wheels..... .. .. Review: Xpress Mag Sat 18th July, Norfolk Basement (Black Board Mind Album Launch) .. Red Shoes Boy are a great little band with Gomez and The Black Keys being very obvious influences, but these guys aren’t just another band who sound reminiscent of others. They hold their sound up perfectly live with their diamond-tough, dirty and distorted blues guitars, and together they have it all in their hands on stage to deliver rich and tasty tunes. Fitting within the swamp-rock genre, Red Shoes Boy were quite fittingly the Norfolk Basements Swamp Thursday’s residency band of July, and are another Perth band who relish and roll around in the mud of the dirty blues rock’n’roll scene which soaks much of the city’s music scene at the moment. Cameron Avery presented the crowd a solo tune which he described as ‘a downer’ in the set, but to us it only presented his vocal and guitar ability, which certainly was no downer. Brining out the harmonica for a little stomping; the two last tunes were punched out perfectly and proved that, with time, this band will mature and hopefully make it to bigger stages. ..
