RED SKY formed in 2005, when charismatic vocalist Fergie and guitarist Griff decided to start a band with a drummer they had known from college. However due to unforseen circumstances the band split up i.e. the drummer was a rite gaylord. This put the idea of "Red Sky" on hold for a while. Soon Chaddy was asked to join as bassist, this left the hole of drummer. However Griff and Chaddy ran into Dippy Danny on college campus and discovered he was a gut busting drummer who soon became a permanent part of the band. They started off playing at the practise rooms in barnsley but this was eating into valuable band profits that fergie and griff "needed" for the pub. Fortunately the band aquired some money and invested in a P.A system. The band are currently playing local gigs round and about town, Join the mailing list at www.freewebs.com/red_sky_band to recieve the latest.

"Red Sky are no exception to the large amount of blossoming musical talent in barnsley. This band is very popular with there teenage peers, how popular? There were kids actually squashed at the front of the stage trying to grab photos of the bands on their mobile phones!
The set was crammed with covers from the likes of AC/DC, Steppenwolf, The Sex Pistols and Billy Idol. Not exactly the typical set you would expect from a band consisting of 16-18 year olds! So another cover band? but why are red sky so special? I will tell you why, This band has a vocalist by the name of Fergie with a gruff grating voice and if you look away from the stage for a few minutes you could swear the young man singing is john lydon. It came as no suprise that "anarchy in the UK" was thrown in and for those who remembered the notorious punk band the hairs on the back of your neck raised! Get this kid on stars in your eyes! Another favourite was Marylin Mansons version of "Sweet Dreams"The intro was flawless and they carried the sulky mood brilliantly throughout the song. Quite an enjoyable band to watch who have obviously worked very hard at perfecting their live set!"
"Well here we go, another review of yet another amazing Red Sky Gig. Well what is there to say about this gig other than it showcased some classic songs played ridiculously well by 5 talented (and good looking) guys. Audience participation wasnt brilliant due to about half the crowd leaving before Red Sky even went on stage, (it was bedtime for the St. Micks kids). However they dont know what the missed out on though, as Red Sky blazed through a 45 minute set including classics such as Anarchy In The UK, Bodies, Brown Sugar and everyones favourite, Whole Lotta Rosie, as well as there self penned masterpiece Live Forever. New song Ace of Spades, by Motorhead also went down a storm, well done lads!
Any good music is better when played live and this band hammers that point home for all to see. Thinking of buying some new shitty pop CD, why dont you check out this band instead, great music and a great band. Enough Said."
