I love recording and mixing bands.
I like bands to be happy and comfortable while I record them.
I like to start off recording live.
I like records made by Joe Barresi, Steve Albini, Ethan Johns and Andy Wallace, amongst others.
I've used a bunch of different studios.
That means that, depending on the project, I can work out of a studio that suits your budget and expectations.
sweeeeet. Oh man, you deserve props for the 'Hired Hands' tracks. And the hall....oh my freaking fkn gahwdh! I would freak with glee to track some stuff there.... a lot a lot a lot of stuff there. Geez, I'd not hesitate to clear that space after tracking, then mix there. A couple of baffles, a little experimentation and dude I bet we could get fantastic recordings there. Where's that winning lotto ticket i had ... and hezz yeah I'll be really interested in yr mic findings. I'm fascinated by the NOS sub-mini telefunken tube in the ak... I wonder what it'll be like if it's been on a solid day or three, powered up... there's possible extra-glory or voodoo or etc to be had, perhaps... maybe... it'll be cool to hear!
Hey big ups to you and Mumblin' Deaf Ro on 'Herring' coming in at #19 in the cluas top 100 of the last 10 years! Well deserved, but sure shoulda topped some of the jokers amongst #1-18... http://www.cluas.com/poll/best-irish-album-1999-2009/20-11.asp
