ReDuX:RMx is back with their latest CD, TWO on Race of Tan Records. This follow-up release to the their debut album, ReDuX:RMx Volume 1, expands from world nu-jazz electronica to world cinematic electronica. Using Latin, Euro, funk, Eastern, Asian and Celtic influences with electronica soundscapes, the original eleven exotic tracks on TWO transport the urban soul across the planet.
Archangel Menezes and Eddie Paton on guitar sonically take you places with music that excites, soothes and moves. Bob Basa’s melodic bass drives the tracks that feature ethereal vocals, stylistically diverse guitar solos and an exotic array of world instruments.
Cinematic in scope, the music on TWO puts you in the mood for anything you can imagine. Check out the latest world electronica tracks by ReDuX:RMx on TWO. The single, RAPTURE, has been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in the Instrumental category. And the Latin track, PALMAS, in the style of the Gipsy Kings, is a finalist category winner in the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition. AT PARADISO was selected for the WARNER MUSIC Europe compilation, CARPE DIEM 8 - for release in October, 2008.
Here's what GUITAR PLAYER magazine said in it's September '08 review of Eddie Paton's solo in PALMAS: Eddie Paton's sure attack, beautiful acoustic tone, impressive technique, and uplifting melodies add sparkle to this percolating Latin track.
ReDuX: RMx Volume 1 - the debut disc by ReDuX:RMx - is a potent blend of smooth, chilled jazz, a twist of Latin, and hints of world music. Think Miles Davis, Chick Corea and the retro Brazilian sound of Sergio Mendez. It's all stirred in with trippy ambient electronica and urban beats. It's the St Germain, Thievery Corporation vibe of nu-jazz, acid jazz, remixed electronica jazz, but all the tracks are original and performed live by guitarist Eddie Paton, keyboardist Archangel Menezes, and some of the best young jazz and R&B players on the Toronto scene.
These original, contemporary nu-jazz tracks create the mood for lounge, chill, and café-hip atmospheres. Perfect for loft-living coffee sipping, late night city driving and before or after a night of clubbing, ReDuX: RMx Volume 1 is a soundtrack of nonstop contemporary jazz for the urban soul.
Thanks for the friend request, and the note about my Pacifica 1421! I absolutely LOVE that guitar. Being from Toronto, you'll probably know the influence that made me look into Yamaha guitars--my favorite singer/songwriter/guitarist is Rik Emmett. I always loved the Pacifica 1412 he used to play. Trying to find one was searching for a needle in a haystack! But, finally one day on ebay I found my 1421. It was my main axe for years until I could afford a custom and had my luthier copy the neck profile of the 1421 because I loved the feel so much!
By-the-way--I really like your music, too. It's a smooth mix of different elements and flavors!

A long time ago a man with big feet stepped on a rat and he felt kind of bad, cause he could not eat the rat, cause it was dirty and smelly like his foot which had also stepped in poo that day, and you can be sick by eating poo. So god a rabid dyslexic dog heard the mans wows and turned the rat into a penis... then all men had penises... and so Valentines day was born... come learn the true meaning of this day as King Clancy sings the word and great works of the great and wonderus dog... (or god if your dyslexic) hear the lament and look in awe as the king delivers furious thunder to your rats... learn the true meaning of Valentines day in your pants...KING CLANCY PLAYS THE HORSESHOE 9 30 pm SATURDAY FEB 14...
