In 1988, Redwing was born in a small cabin in central Iowa. From the start, the band helped revolutionize the original music scene in Iowa drawing large crowds and receiving accolades from local press. Their first release, About Time, sold more than 10,000 copies... not bad in an age before online sales drove the record industry out of business. Performing live was Redwing's true calling and it showed with numerous offers for touring and promotion as well as being one of Musician magazines top 25 unsigned bands in America in the July issue in 1996.
Alas, all good things must come to an end. In 1997, Redwing disbanded and the members went their separate ways, leaving behind many bewildered fans and an unreleased album on the shelf.
Now, 20 years later, all of the members of Redwing are back to treat fans and themselves to the music that helped make Des Moines one of the leading music scenes in the country.
