Ever wanted to hear reggae with a gypsy tinge? Ever pondered the possibility of an Aussie rapping in French while playing ukulele? Ever wanted to see a giraffe parallel park? Upon reaching their teenage years, the Reeba boys set out to answer life’s big questions. The six piece’s fantastical musical monster, though difficult to box up, has been described as a youthful blend of roots reggae, gypsy funk and straight out pop. One thing is certain though, after forming in late 2006 and winning the Queenscliff Music Festival’s Foot-In-The-Door competition, Reeba have taken some big steps and are breaking through the trends of most bands their age, delivering highly energetic, spontaneous and sizzling live performances. A quick look at the year so far shows spots at Wodonga Street Festival, Yakandandah Folk Festival and headliners throughout Geelong and Melbourne. Add to that their current air time on Triple J (courtesy of Claire Bowditch who described Pierre Francois as "amazing") and the release of their debut EP ’The Musical Monster’, and you’ll have a hard time trying to escape their sounds. 2008 will see Reeba bringing a storm of shows across the state so keep up-to-date on the myspace for a show near you! ’The Musical Monster’ is available for purchase online, at live performances or at selected music stores in Geelong and Melbourne.
