"More poetic and more emotional than practically any other act playing right now. In a period of pop stars devoid of any emotion, the soulful lyrics of Waddle shine through as a bright spot on a barren plain." Neufutr's James McQuiston
Reed Waddle is an artist who has arrived "Piece by Piece". His fourth album finds the constantly evolving singer songwriter at the peak of his melodic dexterity, fusing highly emotional soundscapes with a wide palette of memorable pop/rock anthems. His lyrical vision & depth invites comparison by many as a modern day Paul Simon melding into "a similar relaxed soulfulness that recalls Boz Scaggs best work that at the end of the day, any day, sounds great" Joe Hartlaub (Music-reviewer.com)
Waddle is a hard working touring musician. In the past year he has opened concerts for Hall and Oates,The All American Rejects,The Wailers, Edie Carey and Katie Herzig. In support of his new release he completed a 15 state 28 city six week eastern seaboard tour in October/ November 2008. For the past three years he has played over 300 shows annually, mostly in his northwest Florida home, but stretching from Idaho to Boston and the Rocky Mountains while constantly writing and recording. His new release was recorded mostly in Aspen, Colorado, produced by Jamie Rosenberg and joined by multi-platinum pop icon John Oates on several tracks. In October of 2008, Two new songs were added in rotation for four months on XM Radio's "The Loft" and his single "The Beast Within" played on AAA stations across the country. Past career achievements include his song "I Saw Stars" selected from over 25,000 entrants as one of 20 finalists on American Idol's inaugural American Idol Songwriter competition in 2007. Reed has also been a finalist at the International Songwriting Competition several times and has performed with John Oates,Tim Reynolds (Dave Mathews),Stephen Kellogg and many other artists in venues across the country. This summer at the New York City Songwriters Circle he shared the stage with Jesse Harris, Phoebe Snow, John Oates, Tina Shafer and Marcus Hummon. Reed was chosen as a Mt Stage NewSong finalist in September 2009.
"Waddle isn't playing the game like the average up and coming musician... he opted instead to charge out of the gates writing and recording music that could be appreciated by millions. After spinning this disc a few times...we can't help but think that, with the right backing, this guy could become hugely famous in no time. He has an incredibly smooth voice...and his songs are bound to strike a chord with people. LMNOP.com
Hey there Reed, Lovely to meet you last night...you sounded just sublime! I'm not quite sure why you aren't famous yet, but I've got a powerful feeling that you will be. Well done my friend, and best wishes to you for happiness and success. Peace and light, Lori Diamond
Thanks for the shout out, Reed. Looks like you've got yourself busy touring - nice work and the music sounds good. Best of luck with all of them and your Boston move...
I had the pleasure of listening to and meeting Reed last night in Panama City Beach. His music was great and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with him during the break. I have listened to his CD Piece By Piece and love it. It brought back memories of the music of Paul Simon in style and quality. Loved It. I am looking forward to watching as Reed becomes a major star in American Music! If you get a chance to hear him, it's worth the effort. Rocky Akins of The Rockin' Company.
so i just have to say that you're the bomb. i saw you at the blues shack in march and i went again a couple weeks ago on a WEDNESDAY instead of tuesday. i was intensely upset. anyway, just wanted to say i'm a fan and that i thoroughly enjoied your acoustic version of "beat it." even though i have a strong feeling that it will be overplayed everywhere for the next few months. ehh.
Thanks for playing at our wedding! The music for the ceremony was wonderful! I wish we could have heard more during the cocktail hour. Everyone said you were awesome! We missed the whole thing! Hopefully, we can come hear you play if you are ever in Birmingham.
Reed, You & Justin sounded AWESOME last night.....everyone really enjoyed it! Especially me :) It was great seeing you, I hope to catch up with you and Mary when she gets in town.....Take Care, Traci
