MoviesCNN's "Global Challenges" 2004 Video of Reef Ball Foundation.  Great overview.
Medium Resolution (7 Megs Windows Media)
Low Resolution (2 Megs Windows Media)

2000 Reef Ball Video Brochure (6mb, 8.75 Minutes). Learn about the entire Reef Ball family! The single best video about our operation.

Phuket Thailand Channel 11 Interview of Todd Barber, Chairman Reef Ball Foundation and John Walch President Reef Ball Volunteer Services Division.  (26 mgs, 15 minutes long).  Good Spoken Overview.

Eternal Reefs (8mb, 11 Minutes). An 11 minute video deatiling the process to create a living memorial for a loved one.

Reef Balls in the Baltic Sea, Kiel Fjord, IN GERMAN, 6/2001 (6 minutes, 10 mb) Excellent documentation of scientific research into fouling community with and without microsilica. RBDG Authorized Contractor: Marilym

Gabereau! (As in Vicky Gabereau, the famous Talk Show in Canada) A 10 minute interview with Reef Ball's President Todd Barber. This one is really good! See some exciting footage of Reef Balls in COLD water! (5.5mb, 12 Minutes)

CNN's Network Earth Reef Ball Segment. It's old (1994), but a classic. Learn the basic Reef Ball story in 5 minutes (3mb, 5 minutes)

Eternal Reefs in Ft. Lauderdale, a monitoring from July 13, 2001.  Beautiful fish and colors abound...this is a very large file, 15 mgs and it's 10 minutes long.  It does not have sound.  The entire footage was filmed on a single 30 minute dive on just 14 Reef Balls...WOW!

PT Newmount Indonesian Reef Ball Project

Cancun Monitoring Video 8/99
(11 min. 30 sec) This color video documents the growth on Reef Balls after 3 years in a tropical coral reef system. It is available on Digital Hi-8 Format (or less if desired) for Press, or other publicity related uses. It is an order of magnitude more beautiful with each increase in format (The Hi-* Digital is breathtaking!). If you want to know why Reef Balls really are coral reefs, just view this. You will eliminate the term "Artificial Reefs" from your vocabulary when you view this tape! <17 MB - for DSL/Cable Modem (or better) version...Really big file, but beautiful!

TelevisionThere will be a segment on volunteering to aid the Tsumani on the Travel Channel on December 15th...be sure to check that out! Around Nov. Dec 2006, the BBC will air "Jewels of the Carribean"...and there will be a segment on our project in the Cayman Islands.

About me:
I'm the Chairman of the Reef Ball Foundation, a charity that restores coral reefs around the world. I travel frequently having been in over 50 countries in the last 5 years. To see what I did in all those countries click here==> Reef Ball World Mapping System. To contact me directly use reefball@reefball.com Friend requests are welcome. You can also learn more about me at www.toddbarber.com
Who I'd like to meet:

We're going to use this site for our Coral Team which is a worldwide organization of trained volunteers that get together for specific projects to rescue, propagate (asexual reproduction), and plant hard and soft corals onto Reef Ball designed artificial reefs. (see www.artificialreefs.org for more). We have conducted projects recently in the Cayman Islands, Thailand, Antigua, Curocao, Maldive Islands. We are planning future projects for Mexico, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cayman Islands, Maldive Islands and others. A typical project is 12-20 volunteers, with one or two team leaders, half trained volunteers many being coral experts and half new participants. New participants have to pay their own way, but gain the experiance to become a trained volunteer. Trained volunteers earn a team certificate with up to 6 levels of knowledge for conducting coral restoration and mangrove restoration projects. With advancing levels, team members get more and more of their expenses paid for (such as food, hotel, and airfares) and sometime are even paid for their time. It all depends on the project...some are sponsored by external funding...other are not. Volunteers are typically trained scuba divers. This is not a requirement, as every team can include a few non-divers to help with land based tasks. But, in general, to advance in certification levels will require diving skills. The Coral Team is world renown as having developed the only cost effective method for coral plantings. If you are interested in being actively involved in coral reef conservation and restoration and you have the time and resources to be involved, please invite me to be your friend. We'll post group bulletins to help you learn more about our work and to be kept abreast of when the next project might be activated. Activations often come with very short notice due to hurricanes, Tsunami, or other disasters....be here to be the first to find out and have the best chance of being selected for the teams. To learn more, go to www.artificialreefs.org then click on Volunteer Services Division logo on the left side of the page. If you can't join us, we always welcome financial support. You can do this directly to the Reef Ball Foundation (a 501 c 3 public charity) for a full tax deduction (www.reefball.org) or you can sponsor individual team members, for example by providing them with a plane ticket using your frequent flyer miles or by helping them to financially be able to join a trip. If you just want to listen in...that's okay too...either way, just invite me as a friend.
