FREE media courses and workshops have been producing, promoting and exhibiting a cutting edge documentary made entirely by young people. The documentary focuses on young people's priorities for change in youth provision following the announcement of the £79m London Youth Offer
Our website is live!! Take a look at Reel Change Film website where you can view the films and read the survey results from 13 November.
Summer Uni film and TV students made the documentary, young journalists and web administrators are telling the world about it, trainee events managers put on a showcase at Channel 4, marketing students got bums on seats and freshly trained public speakers made sure that everything was alright on the night
The Mayor of London and the grey suits in government have been scratching their heads about how to improve the lives of young Londoners for ages. But then the penny dropped – they finally realised that the only people who know the answer to this, are, wait for it, yes – young people! Genius!
So, they’ve emptied their (huge) wallets to create this ‘London Youth Offer’ of £79 million – all to be spent on places to go and things to do for teenagers – and they want YOU to decide what to do with all this lovely dosh. Yay!
So what do you think your community needs? What do you love about it and what do you hate about it? Are your weekends and holidays packed with fun-filled activities or do you find yourself hanging around on street corners kicking cans with nothing to do?
Who I'd like to meet: Young Londoners, we want to hear from you . . .
Have your say
Send comments, opinions, poems, rants and express what YOU want to improve in YOUR area for young people and how you think £79m could improve the lives of ALL young Londoners – and we’ll make sure we display them on our Reel Change web and online communities pages.
