Call for submissions for the 3rd edition of the Reel Dames Film Festival
Theme:WORK...to toil, a pursuit, a function or mechanism, to perform and accomplish...
Interpreting "work" is YOUR JOB for the 2008 edition of the Reel dames Film Festival. It's time to dust off that camera or film, and bring your ideas and concepts of work — no matter how wild — to life!
Criteria for submissions:
* Projects must have a woman at the forefront in their creation
* By November 15 2007, send us:
1) A brief outline of your ideas (if you are making a new film) or description of the film (if you've already made one), and how it relates to the theme. If the film is already complete arrange to get us a DVD copy, or send us a link to view it online.
2) The format or proposed format of project (S8, 16 or 35 mm, digital, mixed); and the proposed length
3) A description of the audio/soundtrack (dialogue, narrative, instrumental, mixed or other)
4) A 2-3 line bio about yourself and/or your team (i.e. amateur or seasoned, where you're from, etc.)
5) Contact info, and links to your creation(s) and affiliate(s) (if applicable)
We tend to favour pitches/projects that include the following elements:
Film-based works...especially Super8
Collaborative works
Works that include audio from local/Canadian musicians
..***Deadline for PITCH submissions is November 15, 2007***..
You will be notified via e-mail no later than November 25 if you've been selected. (Sorry, we can only contact those participants whose projects have been selected. If we need more information we will contact you.)
Selected participants must submit a high-resolution hard copy of their project on mini-DV no later than February 15th 2008.
The screening will be held March 12 at la Sala Rossa.

Nous sommes fière d'annoncer le thème pour la prochaine édition:
TRAVAIL...laborieux, une poursuite, un mécanisme ou une fonction, exécuter et accomplir....
Interprèter le "travail" reste votre tâche pour le Festival de Film Reel Dames édition 2008. Il est temps d'épousseter vos cameras... soyez audacieuses et donnez vie à vos idées et concepts du thème!
Critères de selections:
*Le projet doit avoir une femme au premier rang de leur création.
*Pour le 15 novembre 2007, envoyez-nous:
1) Un plan de votre idée (si vous faites un nouveau film) ou une description du film (si il est déjà complété), et sa pertinence au thème. Si le film est déjà completé, faites-nous parvenir une copie du DVD, ou envoyez-nous le lien pour le visionner en ligne.
2) Les formats proposés: 16 ou 35 mm, S8, numérique, mélangé ET la longueur proposée (max 10 min)
3) Une description de la bande sonore (dialogue, récit, instrumental, mélangé ou autre)
4) Une biographie de 2-3 lignes de vous et/ou de votre équipe (amateur ou professionelle, d'où vous êtes, etc...)
5) Les informations pour vous contacter, votre site web et affiliation(s) avec d’autres projets ou organisations.
Nous privilégions les scénarios/projets qui incluent les éléments suivants:
- Film tourné sur pellicule...spécialement avec Super 8
- Les collaborations
- Travaux qui incluent une bande sonore réalisée par des musiciens canadiens/locaux.
Tous les formats et toutes les catégories de films (digital, animation, documentaire, drame, expérimental) sont acceptés et considérés lors du processus de sélection; nous encourageons la diversité des styles afin d’offrir un programme varié à notre auditoire.
***Date limite pour toutes soumissions est le 15 novembre, 2007***
Nous vous contacterons par courriel avant le 25 novembre si vous avez été sélectionné. (Seulement les participantes sélectionnées seront contactées, nos excuses. Nous vous contacterons si il manque des infos.)
Les participantes choisies auront jusqu'au 15 février pour soumettre une copie mini-DV à haute résolution de leurs projets.
Le visionnement aura lieu le 12 mars à la Sala Rossa.
