I'm not a purist, just a realist. I wan't the true old skool electro sound to be brought to a new generation, and I want it to be kept soulful, real, funky, and interesting.
It's not about "moving on"...it's about keeping the music real and funky.
Sounds Like
soulful, funky, ELECTRO

I also do a weekly 80's funk/soul/boogie show on GLOBALFUNKRADIO.COM, where I play the funkiest, synthiest, rarest and most underground tracks from the early 80's...you can tune into the show live every saturday, or subscribe to the podcast here:

James Reeno is a bonafide "Native New Yorker" (just like the song says). Growing up in the 70's and 80's, he was hugely influenced by all the great disco, funk, soul, & early 80's club music & electro that was coming out of New York at the time (even though this music was coming out of everywhere else under the sun as well) The early 80's funk/electro made the biggest impression on him, although it took about 20 years for him to fully realize it! Although he is not known for covers, he recently recorded an electrofunk remake of Kool & The Gang's 1974 classic "Summer Madness". Reeno's version stays true to the original vibe of the song, while giving it an electrofied facelift.
Also hot off the press!!! He recently did a track with ZENA KITT of ESCORT, called "I LUV U"...it's very funky, but with some italo-disco influences, and the unmistakable vocals of ZENA KITT.
Regarding Escort, they are a bonafide Disco band out of Brooklyn, NYC!!!
Check them out at WWW.MYSPACE.COM/WEAREESCORT
