Andrew Reeves founded Reeves Records in 2005 as a way to write, record and release his music independently. Each record is a moment in time that captures his memories and experiences in that particular area. "1048 West Kensington Road" was released in November 2007 that details four years of living in Echo Park, California. UK music critic Leicester Bangs said, "His voice is mixed low and is sometimes a little out - it doesn’t matter. A contaminated, Americanised John Cale might come close. Recommended." In the beginning of 2008, Reeves spent three months in his hometown of El Paso, Illinois writing and recording "Somewhere In The Middle Of Nowhere", a record that captures his experiences growing up and eventually leaving rural America. Now living in Austin, Reeves is forming a new backing band, playing locally and working on his third record, "Where The Weeds Won't Grow".
