Reflex has been part of the vibrant music scene in Newcastle since late 1999. Located on Nun Street, near McDonalds at the top of the Bigg Market, we stock a competitively priced range of albums and singles on all formats (c.d. and vinyl, box sets, magazines and the odd bit of merchandise).
We have a website open all hours for all the night owls out there to find that elusive c.d. you have been searching for. Instore there is always plenty to see and plenty to browse. We have:
A well stocked jazz/blues section with all the classic Bluenote titles with some more contemporary listening in as well.
A Country/Folk section that is constantly brimming with new releases and back catalogue.
The Post Rock section for all the noise lovers out there. Expect lots of classic titles (Mogwai, Sigur Ros) mixed up with all the others you’d want to see (Broadcast, Silver Mt. Zion, Do Make Say Think).
Our latest addition is the Prog Rock section. Full of all the Sunbeam, Esoteric and Eclectic re-issues that have been re-discovered and re-mastered of late.
We have a huge Punk/Mod/Ska section, which is always heavily laden with Captain Oi with a healthy dose of all other things punk/mod/ska related.
Metal is next and there is everything from AC/DC through to Zebrahead.
In our Reggae section alongside the obligatory Bob Marley, there are constantly changing classics like The Abyssynians, I-Roy and a host of Trojan titles.
Soul and Northern Soul is still a hugely popular genre so we have a section especially for all you tail shakers out there.
Vinyl lovers are well catered for with an ever-changing array of new and classic albums while singles are constantly stocked for your perusal.
Tickets for both universities and the 02 Academy are all on sale as well.
