About me: Refraction Arts Project creates contemporary works of art across a variety of media, including film, theater, art and music. We are especially interested in the intersection of these different media as we search for new stories, new sounds and images that pulse with life. Our vision is an immediate one, one we hope offers possibility and new ways of looking at the world.
Who I'd like to meet: We would like to meet artists from all disciplines, races, ages and backrounds who are interested in new dialogues between media and people. We always need help with our productions and maintaining our theater, so please contact us if you are interested in helping. Thanks!
Just making the rounds to all of For Love & Stacie's friends here on MySpace letting you know that the full movie is now online in its entirety for free. Hope you love it and really hope you'll help us out by spreading it around if you do! Thanks so much!
The Rag Blog and South Austin Pictures present a screening of "God
Thinks You're a Loser," a perverse comedy from Austin director Gary
Chason, at The Independent in the 501 Studio Complex, 8 p.m., Thursday,
August 27, 2009, 501 E. 5th at I-35 in Austin, Texas (entrance on
Brushy Street, one block east of I-35).
A donation of $10 is suggested, with proceeds benefiting The Rag Blog,
a progressive internet news magazine based in Austin. There will be a
cash bar.
According to Chason, "God Thinks You're a Loser" is "a zany comedy
about strippers and oil men" with "plenty of kinky sex, drugs, and the
reckless pursuit of sensual pleasure." But in the end, those who hurt
others must answer for their actions.
Much of the film takes place in Hell.
A live discussion with director Gary Chason and star Sue Rock will follow the screening.
Thank you for the nice wishes, Refrac. Now about that alligator-- is that a reference to ROMANCE OF THE STONE? I think I saw that quote in the Director's Cut. Which I own by the way. Ahem. Jealous much? Ahem.
