aacPlus v2 (HE-AAC) is what you're listening to when you tune in to the JamrockRadio aacPlus stream. It is a compressed audio format, just like the popular mp3, but provides better reproduction quality at low bitrates, such as our low 32k bitrate. AacPlus is a fairly new audio format, so its compatibility with audio players is limited, but slowly growing. Winamp player has supported this format since 2004 (and mp3 since the player's first release in 1997). And since April 2006, aacPlus has also become compatible with Windows Media Player thanks to the Orban aacPlus Plugin. The 32k aacPlus stream: .Can be used on Dial-up or DSL/Broadband

WINAMP PLAYER (Recommended Player)

The latest version of Winamp supports aacPlus, so there's nothing extra to download! This is our recommended player. Available in three versions: Pro, Full or Lite. If you have a version of Winamp older than 5.08, you must update to the latest version for aacPlus streaming. Follow these steps to tune in via Winamp.
. Firstly, download Winamp Player.
. To open the JamrockRadio stream, Click on the Link above for Winamp. Or
. Open Winamp,then press and hold {Control} {L} for the "Open URL" dialog box.
. Enter the address http://jamrock.host56.com/jamrockradio/jamrock.pls and click Open to start the stream.
. For future use, bookmarking http://jamrock.host56.com/jamrockradio/jamrock.pls in Winamp's Media Library will enable you to start the stream direct from Winamp, even if the stream IPs ever change

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

The current version of Windows Media Player (also known as WMP) does not play aacPlus files or streams by default. In April 2006, "Orban" released a plugin called "Orban/Coding Technologies AAC/aacPlus Player Plugin" for WMP. This plugin allows WMP to decode and play aacPlus streams, as well as some other formats. The following steps explain how to get (JamrockRadio) on your WMP.
. If not already on your computer, get WMP from the Microsoft site.
. The Orban aacPlus Plugin webpage has a direct link to the plugin. Click the "GET IT HERE" link on that page to download it.
. Open and follow the steps to install the plugin. You only need to install this once.
. To open the JamrockRadio stream Or alternatively,
. Open WMP, then press and hold {Control} {U} for the "Open URL" dialog box.
. Enter the address http://jamrock.host56.com/jamrockradio/jamrock.asx and click OK to start the stream.

VLC PLAYER (Non-Windows Users)

For operating systems other than Windows, VLC Player is the most popular for playing the aacPlus format. VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats. It can also be used with Windows, as well as just about any other Operating System.
. Visit VLC's download page. Select your Operating System and closest download location.
. Open VLC, then press and hold {Control} {N} to bring up the "Open..." dialog box.
. Select "HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS" and in the "URL" box.
. Enter the address http://jamrock.host56.com/jamrockradio/jamrock.asx and click OK to start the stream.
