Reggae Recipe is a club founded in april 2005 in Amsterdam with the goal to promote (vintage) Jamaican music in a town which gets often associated with reggae only because of its soft drugs policy.
Nothing wrong with that of course, but we feel that reggae is much much more than that. Also in Amsterdam!!!
We wanted to give our club an original, friendly and warm feel, very distant from the redgoldgreen/lionofjudah/haileselassie pastiche of 99% of the reggae clubs worldwide but also from the 'monotone' two-tone image of the ska scene.
And we found the key in another passion of ours: FOOD! Something matching perfectly this kind of music, which is spicy and tasty just as the Jamaican and Caribbean kitchen!
In these four years we've been spinning in all the most important venues of our hometown, organising gigs and offering our guests free homemade Jamaican and Caribbean snacks.
We'll be doing one party every season, with live music, dj set and of course food!

IMPORTANT! We're starting getting requests from political bands and organisations. Reggae Recipe is strictly nonpolitical and has just one simple message: "ENJOY GOOD THINGS IN LIFE REGARDLESS WHERE THEY COME FROM". This means there is no room for "sectarian" stuff like political or religious propaganda. A STATEMENT FROM REBELLION REGARDING 4 SKINS DEC 5 MELKWEG
I'm really sorry to announce the cancellation of the 4 Skins, Argy Bargy, The Crack etc next month. Basically its due to very poor ticket sales and whilst we tried to see it through with the hope it would improve it has just slowed down even more. Please understand this has been a very difficult decision, i hate cancelling gigs and have only because there is no choice. I would like to apologise to everybody who have bought tickets and/or made travel or hotel arrangements. Refunds for tickets should be made from point of purchase. I would also like to apologise to the bands who have all worked hard to try to make this happen. there is little all else to say but a huge sorry again from myself

hahaha ja is altijd wel ff lekker om wat tegaan eten na een concert, we hadden eerst ff wat besteldt bij de wok to go, maar dat duurde zo lang,dat ik toch eerst maar ff een febo burger had gehaaldt, aangezien ik behoorlijk honger had gekregen na al dat pogoen kregen we de noodles eindelijk,had ie ze scherp besteldt, je kon de brandweer wel bellen,want me mond stond volgens mij gewoon in de fik, ben dat niet meer gewendt dat scherpe eten, sinds dat ik bij me ouders woon eten we haast nooit scherp haha, we zijn daarna nog ff in de pub geweest, en toen naar de maloe melo gegaan, daar kwamen we om half 6 sochtends dronken naar buiten. was dus weer een heel avontuur, dus ben benieuwdt wat het gaat worden met de 4-skins

The notorious international Poison Dart, based in Tampa , Florida (
US A) will tour Europe this fall.
Poison Dart, in the sound system business from 1993, created quite a
stir on the international sound system scene shortly following their friendly -
yet competitive - dub fi dub with Killamanjaro and Ricky Trooper in Orlando on
June 5, 1996. In the years since, Poison Dart has represented the USA in
several World Clashes defending their turf with deep dubbox.
Owner Kirky C’s sharp selections and MC Mad Rass a.k.a. Taranchyla
with his razor sharp speech. Poison Dart made an everlasting impression on
European audiences recently alongside Tek-9 Movements representing the USA in
the Tag Team Clash "War Ina East" in the Netherlands where they
nearly snatched away the trophy from Europe ’s top sounds Sentinel &
Supersonic.
Now Kirky C and Mad Rass will showcase their skills and the true
depth of their dubbox in a juggling style for this next fire burning TOPPA TOP
