Presentando su nuevo álbum "AWAKE"

Recording artist Julian “JuJu” Marley is excited to announce the release of his highly anticipated record, Awake, on May 26 via Ghetto Youths/Universal. Recorded at the Lion’s Den in Miami, Florida, and Tuff Gong in Kingston, Jamaica, the music and message presented throughout Awake is rife with the inspiration of all the family who have come before.

This set of hypnotic beats and soulful vocals was inspired by life and spirituality and incorporates the roots-reggae sound that Julian has made his own, infused with street-energy hip-hop, bubbling dancehall, and a smooth combination of R&B and reggae. The album features collaborations with brothers Stephen Marley on “Little too Late” and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley on “Violence in the Street” and rapper Mr. Cheeks on “Oh Girl.” First single “Boom Draw,” an easy roots-dancehall tune will impact radio on XX and is now available exclusively on iTunes.

The release of Julian’s 1996 debut album, Lion in the Morning

launched the talented musician into the public eye. The record was followed by a successful international tour with The Uprising, performances with the Ghetto Youths Crew, an opening act slot with the Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers world tour, a Marley Magic family performance during New York City’s Central Park Summer Stage series and a featured artist position on the 1997 rock-oriented Lollapalooza tour.

Julian has toured extensively with Damian and worked together with Stephen and Damian on the 1999 production of the platinum-selling Chant Down Babylon, a remix album by various hip-hop and rock artists covering Bob Marley & The Wailers songs.

The last year was an exciting and eventful one for the young Marley. Julian’s performance in Guinea, Africa, brought his conscious, uplifting roots-reggae music to a new and appreciative audience while the Africa Unite concert held in Jamaica in February 2008 brought the brothers together again.

At the invitation of the Jamaican government, Julian Marley and The Uprising performed during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, and celebrated alongside Jamaica’s Gold medal-winning runner, Usain Bolt.

All of these experiences have played a significant role in shaping Julian into who he is today, and, in the creation of Awake. A new decade has inspired new projects. Julian joined siblings Stephen, Cedella, Damian, and Ky-Mani to contribute a version of “Master Blaster” for Stevie Wonder’s 2003-tribute album, Conception: An Interpretation of Stevie Wonder Songs.

That same year Julian released his second CD, Time and Place

a family-produced album that also featured brothers Ziggy and Rohan Marley, followed by a world tour to support the release.

The Roots Rock Reggae Fest in 2004 united all the Marley brothers for their first stateside tour while the Marley family Africa Unite concerts in Ethiopia in 2005 and Ghana in 2006.

Aswad presentó en concierto el 7 de Julio en Barcelona su nuevo disco "City Lock" (Rhythm Riders) que está a la venta desde el 29 de Junio.

Este nuevo trabajo de estudio rompe un silencio de 10 años.

Regresan con una mezcla única de su inconfundible reggae con dancehall, funk, hip-hop y dub, incluyendo una nueva versión del massive hit de Howard Jones "What is Love?".

Después de 15 álbums y tres décadas en la escena de la música Reggae, Aswad continúa siendo una de las bandas más queridas.

Formada originalmente por el trío Brinsley “ Dan “ Forde ( voces y guitarra rítmica ),Angus “ Drummie Zeb “ Gaye ( voces y batería) y Tony “ Gad” Robinson ( bajista), Aswad es reconocido por sus ricas melodías y harmonías y sus arreglos en la sección de vientos.

Aswad (Negro) cuyo significado proviene del árabe, se formó en la zona de west Londres en 1974.

Junto con los contemporáneos Cimarrons, Matumbi y Black Slate la banda fue una prueba del establecimiento de la música Caribeña en Europa.

En sus primeros años Aswad fue el único grupo británico en compartir escenarios y grabaciones con muchos de los más importantes artistas Jamaicanos, incluyendo Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh y Bunny Wailer, ( Bunny se refería a Aswad como los Young Wailers ).

El álbum “ Live And Direct “

está considerado la quinta esencia de los directos del Reggae.

Después de una sucesión de singles y albums con Island Records y CBS fueron aclamados internacionalmente por su versión Reggae de “ Don’t Turn Around” una canción previamente versionada por Luther Ingram y Tina Turner. “ Don’t Turn Around “ editada por Island Records en 1988 llegó al número 1 en las listas de nacionales de UK, y fue el disco más reproducido en las radios francesas.

A través de los años Aswad ha estado grabando con una gran variedad de artistas, incluyendo Dennis Brown , Maxie Priest, Hugh Masakela, Steelie and Clevie, Shabba Ranks y Sly and Robbie.

"Born 2 Go High" (2004, Special Delivery Music) fue el esperado disco de presentación de este joven nacido en Guinea Conakry.

LYRICSON is born in Guinea in 1979 .He shortly after emigrates to Liberia .Due to the civil war ,his father takes his son on to the U.S .At the age of 15,he feels tired of the numerous disputes and moves to a rasta friend.It is during that period that he discovers Rastafari and starts to sing regularly.

He spends his days between playgrounds and rehearsal rooms.The he leaves for West Indies where he does his first recordings with the crew Red Zone.

After arriving in Paris ,he works with his cousin PYROMAN who is part of the crew surrounding the french hip hop group "Assassin".

He records some tracks and plays several shows with the crew before meeting MANU CHAO .It's Manu Chao who recruits him as an opening act and backing singer for his world tour .This meeting is very important for Lyricsons career as he gets the chance to begin to tour the whole planet and perform in front of stadiums filled with people.

Whether on his own or accompanied by the crew BLACK UNITE ,he blazes the fire everywhere from South America to Africa .Furthermore you cannot count the numbers of International Mixtapes he can be heard on.

And you can also find him on French and Jamaican productions for his first album "Born 2 go high " and then for his second one "Keep the Faith".

With releasing his third album in 2009 "MESSAGES" with his own LABEL (PJK Ent.)he shows that he is one of our best Reggae Music MESSENGER.
