It is thought that Reg Hiss formed his Skiffle group somewhere towards the tail end of the last century with his long-time compadre Conrad Toller. In their time together they have called upon the services of such great musicians as Handsome Dan Sanchez, Jazzy Geoff Johnson, The French Prince, Cornelius Gremlin and The Amazing Dr. G.
Reg first met Conrad backstage at Channel 4 when he appeared on top quiz show 'fifteen-to-one' at the same time as Reg was taking part in a VIP tour of the studio. Reg said, "I could use a man of your calibre in my band," and, after discussing their common interests - TV quiz shows, Diagnosis Murder and skiffle music - the rest, as they say, is history.
Handsome Dan Sanchez was drafted into the group to compensate for Reg and Conrad's shocking lack of sex appeal. If you were wondering, Handsome Dan Sanchez isnt his real name, oh no - it's Dean Cain. "I'll cut that bastard, I'll cut him bad" He jested when he heard that his namesake had been chosen ahead of him at the audition for 'The New Adventures of Superman'. Consequently, in 1996 Dan managed to offload deancain.com for a substantial amount of money.
The French Prince was playing Kel in the hit show 'Kenan & Kel' when he met Geoff Johnson, who starred as madcap convenience-mart owner Chris. The pair's affiliation with the group began when they showed an interest in the work of Toller - notably on Disneys 'Fantasia' and of course the 'Kenan & Kel' theme, which he co-wrote with Grammy award winning rapper Coolio.
Phillip T. Ano is probably the most established musician to ever grace the Reg Hiss Skiffle Group. A highly skilled classical musician and all-rounder, he not only taught Reg and Conrad the knowledge but he also taught the Jackson Five to dance, David Lee Roth how to be sexy, Corey Feldman to act, Neil Peart to play drums and gave HRH queen Elizabeth II elocution lessons.
'Tattooist to the stars' Cornelius Gremlin came to RHSG after stints in several death metal bands, a barber shop quartet and of course Emerson, Lake and Gremlin. The latter group replaced Gremlin with Carl Palmer after a fight over backstage requirements. Gremlin also wrote the Eagles hit Desperado.
The Amazing Dr. G came into the equation while he was giving Reg his first testicular examination. He knew that a man with hands that cold MUST be one bad-ass ivory tinkler. He was right. The threesome got on well and started their epic journey to change Skiffle as we know it.
