Born in Hiroshima and is now living in Kyoto, Japan.
He is called as "Electronic musician" plays and mixes with Hard Disc recorder.
Rei released his debut album 'unrest' (1998) on the label Sublime Records.
His follow up albums, 'o*paq' (1999) and 'red curb' (2001) releases showcased his skills as an artist and producer.
Rei's growing reputation has resulted in him becoming an in demand producer and collaborator for artists such as UA, Great 3 and Coldcut.
Rei manages to regularly rock the stage at some of Japan's big festival like "Fuji Rock Festival","RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL","sonar sound tokyo".
On the international stage, Rei has been actively participating in several music showcases in France and Germany, also "Sonar 2005" in Barcelona, Spain appeared with Shiro Takatani (from performance unit, "dumb type", as a visual collaboration).
His 4th album 'lust' (2005), caught on so quickly in many music circles. He then continued to release the album 'wasuremono' and 'Colors of the Dark (project album for the Guinness recorded planetarium, MEGASTAR-II for National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation = Miraikan in Tokyo)' (2006).
In recent years, he has produced music for Nike+, Oggi, UNIQLO TRY2, TV asahi, HONDA etc. and composed BGM music for the movie "Ten nen Kokekko" (Rei received 2 music awards in the Japanese movie award for this!).
His recent collaboration as an artist and producer on Akiko Yano's album has resulted in widespread recognition and formed official duo called "yanokami", has released 1st Album in August 2007 and performed at Summer festival like "Rock in Japan" and "Summer Sonic", then yanokami's truly original album "yanokamick -yanokami English version-" is released in 2007.
His archives are compiled to the albums titled 'asage' & 'yuuge' such as remix, produce works will be released on March 18th 2009.
