Reikidogs: A Chirpy Tale of Festivals, Magic Beans, Transvestites, and Boxing..
MR T and Geoff met whilst queuing at the brothers' bar during the mudswamped Glastonbury festival of 2007. The pair got talking about music and both discovered a similar taste in bands and cider, and after a chat about music and a pint of brothers finest they agreed to meet up for a jam after Glastonbury Festival had finished.
In a bizarre manner, both managed to lose/break their mobile phones during the festival:
Mr T managed to submerge his in the infamous Glasto latrines after several pints of cider.
Geoff's phone was swapped for an elf totem pole.
Several months later, Geoff had just left an alternative folky collective band on the grounds he didn't want to play folk music and was walking down Glastonbury high street. He bumped into Tom who was having a loud altercation with a 6ft transvestite over rights to a particularly hot busking spot on the high street.
Mr T and Geoff immediately recognised each other and much to the 6ft transvestite's delight went off for a cider and a chat.
As a result of that cider, chat, bruised ego, the Reikidogs were formed.
Dan had known Geoff's brother from school and had recently returned to drumming after a prolonged absence caused through a boxing bout. He was put in touch with the Reikidogs and after a short audition was asked to join in the role of drummer and style adviser...
The Reikidogs had been looking for a bass player for awhile but hadn't found the right person. No-one is exactly sure how we found Chirps (including himself) but he ended up appearing one day for an audition with his schecter bass and some fantastic bass lines.
Being a Brummie he managed to hide his enthusiasm under a veil of grumpiness. However the band persevered through his benign indifference to just about everything, and interpreted this as a desire to join the band.
Ladies and Gentleman, we present..Reikidogs.
