Reinstate Karen Reissmann's Blurbs

About me:
Karen Reissmann is a mental health nurse from Manchester.
On November 5 2007 she was sacked for bringing her health trust into disrepute.
Her crime was to talk to the media, as a Unison trade union rep, about changes to the service.
She expressed the concerns of the workers she represents, about the the future treatment of the patients they treat.
That was judged to be gross misconduct.
Karen's colleagues are on her side.
During the disciplinary process nearly 700 Unison members took 14 days of strike action in her support.
Now 160 of her closest colleagues are on all-out strike demanding Karen's reinstatement.

On the other hand, I think we must seize the day and expose this core that is being stealthily ripped out of our welfare state by our moneyed downtreaders. I mean who, apart from the govt, the nhs trusts and the private companies, does privatisation benefit? This is the tip of the iceberg, but I was shocked when visiting a paraplegic friend in hospital that he had to pay to watch any TV from his hospital bed, had to pay using a credit card (he doesn't have one, and struggles enough on disability benefit to even pay his rent) to make a single phone call, all thanks to this fancy new gadget installed by a private company, raking in the profits from misery. To me, that was truly sick! If every other nurse spoke out in one loud voice now about the privatisation con, and was joined by everyone in the public sector, we could actually get somewhere. Or am I just dreaming?
