Reipas is a Finnish word wich means positive, uplifting and motivated.
Dinny and Guillaume, coming from different cultures, both share the desire to try new ideas with music. Guillaume is a bassist who played in many Paris bands over 15 years (Pregnant, Uneven...to name a few), today still plays bass with Crippled old farts (old school punk band).
The duo that forms Reipas crossed paths one year ago and 3 weeks later Dinny started to sing for the first time in her life in the band Guillaume was bassist for, A cob of maize. When the band broke at the end of 2008, they continued to create new songs together, Guillaume starting using an acoustic guitar which he never considered playing before.
Inspired by the atmosphere of the Irish folk scene where people meet to share music by the fire of a cosy pub, Dinny writes lyrics and creates melodic lines as a way to express stories and experiences.
The mix of these two together formed the simple, soft flow of Reipas.

Dinny et Guillaume, venant de cultures différentes, partagent l’envie d’exprimer de nouvelles idées avec la musique. Le duo qui forme Reipas s’est croisé il y a un an. 3 semaines après, Dinny chantait, pour la première fois de sa vie, dans le groupe où Guillaume jouait de la basse, A cob of maize. Quand le groupe s’est séparé, fin 2008, ils ont continué à écrire des chansons ensemble, Guillaume utilisant une guitare acoustique, ce qu’il n’avait jamais envisagé auparavant.
Inspirée par l’atmosphère de la scène folk Irlandaise où les gens se rencontrent pour partager leur musique dans des pubs, Dinny écrit les paroles et crée les mélodies pour exprimer des histoires et des experiences.
Le mélange des deux personnalités donne la simplicité et la douceur de Reipas.
