No doubt, Germany's most spectacular act is named DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER. That..s the German translation of Horsemen Of The Apocalypse and if you ever read the bible, you should know, what they are all about. With their unique combination of power and melodies, bittersweet lyrics and a breathtaking, outstanding live performance, this band is definetely a class of its own. The Riders, as the fans call them, give a shit on so called rules, they are true innovators and courageous .... and, last but not least, incredibly successful. Over 50.000 Metalheads were stunned about there live performance at Wacken 2007 in the middle of the night. With their last studio record "Licht" they cracked into the official German Longplayer Charts on place 29. 1996 "Firestorm" Demo recorded in May and released just a few weeks later. Mailed out over 500 copies into the whole world. First live shows in Germany and self-organized tour through Czech, Hungary and Romania (still without having a deal)
1997 Signing a contract with Ars Metalli Records. Debut album "Soft & Stronger" released
1998 4 track vinyl EP "Dschinghis Khan" recorded (limited to 1000 copies) first big show in the band history (Fuck The Commerce Open Air)
1999 second album "Allegro Barbaro" released on Ars Metalli signing a contract with Hammerheart Records founding member Skelleton (drums) left the band, replaced by SirG. huge amount of live shows, first Wacken show in the bands history
2000 release of the milestone "All You Need Is Love" overwhelming feedback from the whole world With Full Force Open Air
2001 European Tour supporting US-sickos Macabre through Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Czechia, Austria, Italy and Switzerland second Wacken show in bands history band is traveling in the own van nearly every weekend through Germany for live shows
2002 due to arm-injuries of singer Fuchs and drummer Sir G. the band is put on ice for a long time band is playing a few shows with session drummer Tim (Adorned Brood) as the arm injury of Fuchs can't be healed, he decided to quit playing guitar on stage new guitar-player Pitrone is joining the band, in the beginning just as session member cancellation of the Hammerheart contract, signing to Nuclear Blast Records in November/December band starts to record the new album
2003 the fourth long-player "Have A Nice Trip" is finally out the album entered the German long-player charts ..
2004 we worked together with Tue Madsen for the new album recoding took play in wonderful summertime in Aarhus/Denmark "Samurai" is our fifth longplayer, release-date 08.11.2004 special release-show tour in Germany
2005 "Samurai" was released in the USA in February 5 week tour in February/March with Finn-Monsters Turisas marked the biggest success for the band so far nearly 20 open airs, a very hot summer seasons with killers shows at Summerbreeze, With Full Force, Taubertal and many more band played nearly 80 shows this year pre-production for next album RIDERS ON THE STORM in november/dezember
2006 recording session february & march release EP/DVD "FRIEDE SEI MIT DIR" release new album RIDERS ON THE STORM headliner tour in September 2006 together with TYR & HÄMATOM European tour together with NATRON & ROTTING FAITH
2007 Russian/Ukrainian tour in January (Kiev, Moscow, St.Peterburg) by train!!! European tour with Finntroll in April/May huge amout of open air shows - Wacken, Summerbreeze, Brutal Assault, Metalcamp, Partysan Open Air and many more... The band is currently working on their first full lenght DVD and a double Live-CD (with performances from Wacken and Party:san 2007).
2008 Release of chart-breaking Live DVD "Tobsucht" in February. Due to various reasons (different opionion about sound and music), the band decided to break up with guitar player Pitrone. He was replaced by Lady Cat-Man. The band set the world in fire with new album "LICHT" (eng. LIGHT). After a successful "Reiterfestspiele"-tour, that band survived a chaotic trip to Russia, with shows from the polar circle to the Caucasian mountains. In December D.A.R. support German medieval heroes In Extremo on their tour through Benelux and France.
2009 D.A.R. changes again the guitar player. Instead of Lady Cat-Man the new axeman Ady was introduced to the band. The band launches a monthly updated videoblog about composing process of the new album (to be released in 2010). The band will co-headline Paganfest-Tour in autumn, also a new trip to Russia is announced.
