Ruthanne's Interests
|
| General | Tie dye, art quilts, art dolls, yodeling and vocal harmony. I love family harmony in a small group and choral harmony, too. I enjoy many kids of music, from folk songs to great choral masterworks to broadway show tunes. I also enjoy acting in community theatre and hope to have time to do that again now that I'm not going out to a full-time cubicle job. | | Music | Classical, folk, Celtic, bluegrass. Enya, Nickle Creek, Beatles, Clannad, Carly Simon, Broadway soundtracks (Chicago, Sound of Music, Gypsy, Phantom, Evita and more), movie soundtracks (a favorite would be Lord of the Rings), world music. | | Movies | The Lord of the Rings, Ghostbusters, Monsoon Wedding, Amalie, All That Jazz, Funny Girl - almost any Broadway show made into a movie (I don't get too many chances to see 'em on Braodway). | | Television | HGTV, Food Network, The Daily Show. | | Books | The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, anything by Elizabeth Berg, Sharyn McCrumb or Orson Scott Card (though I tend to bog down in the long series). My guilty pleasure is period romance by Georgette Heyer; second choice would be Phyllis A. Whitney. The Chronicles of Narnia, of course. |
