beckett. or rory to those who know me....
the name beckett incidentally isnt robbed from the playwright or my surname, its from a 70s cop show me and my mates invented when we were about 15 called "beckett and bloom". Someday i'll find the draft of the first script and put it online. Its ridiculous.
Influences
from everything and anywhere, not just music but everything else happening around me.
Beckett has been heavily involved in the irish drum and bass scene for donkeys years now, and is the man behind Ireland's long serving online community for junglists irishdrumandbass dot com.
Initially starting off as a DJ (as well as running the website) Beckett gained a reputation for his across the board selections and solid mixing. Guesting all around the country, as well as providing backup for innumerable jungle "heavyweights" he eventually moved into the promotion game.
Nights he was involved in running included Second Street and Release, which brought over a Host of guests from overseas as well as representing with some of Ireland's finest DJs.
Taking a break from jungle promotion at the moment, Beckett has turned his attention to production and has released tracks on a couple of online labels including exegene and digibeat, and is currently focusing on a body of work he hopes to pimp out to labels in the coming months...
In the mean time keep an eye on here for latest tracks and upcoming shows.
***OFFICIAL VIBE PRESS RELEASE***
re. VIBE no longer at Milk
It appears that Milk are trying to hijack the VIBE brand by postering & flyering with a brand they are calling "live VIBEs" (the "live" & "s" are so small you can hardly see them on the posters!).
They have even tried to further reinforce that Carley & Tina are part of this promotion by putting "C&T promotions" on the flyer!
Milk are attempting to get party-goers into the club by deceiving and misleading them....please let everyone know that VIBE are nothing to do with Milk & this "new" Sunday promotion is a poor attempt to ride off someone else’s hard work. This promotion is motivated purely by jealousy and financial gain, unlike VIBE, which is always promoted from a burning desire to give people a great night out.
VIBE IS NO LONGER AT MILK & WILL HAVE NO ASSOCIATION WITH ANY ACTIVITIES AT THIS VENUE.
Future VIBE parties will be taking place at Club Mynt on Saturday nights; watch this space for some extra-special shenanigans!
