Club Relevant is an all ages venue that provides live
entertainment for the youth of Hampton Roads in an alcohol free environment. Although the venue is hosted in a church and is run by those who profess a Christian faith, we book both faith and non-faith acts in our venue. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for all youth not just those who claim a Christian background. Our basis for doing what we do is found in Gospel of Mathew.
Matthew 9:9-13
9 As Jesus was going down the road, he saw Matthew sitting at his tax-collection booth. "Come, be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. 10 That night Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to be his dinner guests, along with his fellow tax collectors and many other notorious sinners. 11 The Pharisees were indignant. "Why does your teacher eat with such scum?" they asked his disciples. 12 When he heard this, Jesus replied, "Healthy people don't need a doctor – sick people do." 13 Then he added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: 'I want you to be merciful; I don't want your sacrifices.' For I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough."
Our goal is to be a people of mercy and invite all people to enjoy the environment that Club relevant/myspace provides. We do not expect everyone to understand or agree with what we do at Club relevant/myspace. Our hope though is that you would extend to us the same mercy we would strive to extend to you.
Since we are an all ages venue we do ask all local and touring acts to be sensitive to those who are in attendance and to act in such a way that is appropriate for an all ages environment. All artists in bands have family members that are younger then them and we expect them to act in a way that their own younger family members would consider appropriate.
