The Relevant Sound Project was started with the intention of uplifting and bringing a higher state of awareness to soulful music. We are hoping to do this by creating, supplying, and encouraging resources for people to hear things they may not be exposed to. Through this we hope to help people open their minds and enjoy the music that they may have been led to believe is irrelevant.
DATES!!!!

Great dance music is part of what makes Oakland such a wonderful place to be these days and Oakland is now putting its mark on dance music. So, with the momentum of an incredible 2 year anniversary at thePeople, Belleza residents, Be Brown and Cecil, are about to show you why the new batch of parties at Levende East are no small part of this trend.
The only thing that's going to be heard above the sounds of laughter and the clinking of wine glasses will be gorgeous, soulful music that makes you smile even while you dance. NEW RELEVANT REMIX!!!!!... Cecil has done it again folks....
The Flute Song.......Cecil's Beatdown REMIX is off the hook!
Mzee's follow up to the smash hit Mahwuelele brings serious deep afro vibes for the dance floor
We proudly present a tribute to South African music legend Kampi Moto, who joined Ocha Record's Mzee for one of his final recordings before his passing and created the song Umoja with Mzee. We enlisted the help of some of the leaders of the new school to do their magic on the remix tip and we were not dissapointed. Culoe de Song and Boddhi Satva lead the charge with some very heavy beats, while Areo Manyelo, and Mushroom Boys bring the Afro-tech sound in a very big way that will move any dancefloor. The 2nd song on this release, The Flute Song is treated to an infectious dance floor makeover by Mzee labelmate Ezel. Brazilian Soul Crew also gives The Flute Song alot of love with their mix, while DJ Cecil simply abuses the track with appropriately titled Beatdown remix.
Here's what some of our favorite DJs have to say:
Killing it hard with this song... 3 X Dope! - Jojo Flores (Gotsoul, Therapy)
The Culoe De Song Remix is Minimal, Moody.......HOTNESS!!!! - Santos (Yoruba
Records)
This track is crazy! - DJ Manoo (Real Tone, Buzzin' Fly)
have been rocking 'Flute Song' for a while and this is a big hit with the heads! and as far as 'Umoja' all i gotta say is Culoe TURNT this out big time! as always my full support! - Master Kev (Code Red, Defected)
This is the heat for the fall dancefloor! - Jovonn (NextMoov)
Another dope release for Ocha, i would definitely say the original and the Culoe de Song mixes are the ones for me. Got my full support - Stephen Rigmaiden (Connected Music)
Culoe de Song has his own sound, pure deep afro vibes, i feel this, it has to sound great in a big system, cant wait to feel the bass freq. An essential piece for all those who love real afro tracks - Kiko Navarro (Pacha, Spain)
Another Ocha spirit raising classic! Culoe De Song is ahead of his time! Umoja...definitive of the unifying synergy of Africa's rhythm & roots & the much needed evolution of house music. - DJ Sabine (Brooklyn Mecca, NYC)
...great vibe, moving vocals... - DJ Deep (Deeply Rooted House)
It is our pleasure to present to you Mzee's second release on Ocha Records, already supported by some of house music's heavy hitters.
Original, Bomba and Sbonza mixes written, recorded and produced by Mzee in his Bomba Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Excellent selection of fine House Cuts for this second album on Gotta Keep Faith! 18 traxx of pure pleasure. The Second Volume of DEEPY GROOVES seems to be more interesting of previous. The Album contains 18 tracks, a mix of some ‘unreleased’ tunes and some ‘already heard’ song.
L’arte della cucina, la cucina è un’arte, la musica è un arte, la deep house in cucina è ancora meglio!!!!! An amazing recipe will mix together Deep House & italian cooking.Frederic Faupin, aka Mr Fuzz brings some heat to the impending Autumn evenings in the shape of “Deep House Cooking”. On the menu this time around is a seventies cocktail of strings and guitars topped off with lashings of spoken vocals from Monte Carlo’s master chef Maurizio Bullano. All in all there’s a choice of eight mixes to tickle your musical taste buds including remixes from Blue Deep, Greg Steiner, Grantorino, Carl Michael, Ask Not Doubting and The Deepchords. Between them we think we’ve got most bases covered
Thanks everybody for all that you do! I want you to know how privlaged I feel to witness and enjoy all of your amazing talent and limitless knowlege of Soul Music!!! I look forward to watching the sound and community grow and flourish in allll the right ways! :)
