|
| Bio | This June marks the return of Religious Pretense, the all improvised comedy set in the courtroom of God with the audience as jury. Religious Pretense creates a fast paced comedy that is different for every performance. At the top of each show audience members give suggestions regarding the defendant’s manner of death, profession, sins, and bad habits. These suggestions provide the evidence to release the defendant into Heaven, or confine him to eternity in Hell. About me:
The cast includes members from all previous productions of Religious Pretense, as well as special guest improvisers from around the Twin Cities who will act as witnesses. Regular cast members include members of Four Humors Theatre Company, graduates of the University of Minnesota Theatre Arts and Dance, and local improvisers from several local groups.
The second act comprises an all star improv set. This free flowing second act will showcase the improv talents of the cast to create instant theatre based on audience suggestions.
This is the fourth production of Religious Pretense since it opened in the 2004 Minneapolis Fringe Festival. It was since performed as part of the 2004-2005 University of Minnesota Xperimental Theatre Season, as well as a production at the Old Arizona Theatre in 2005.
