“ "One Time Bomb" is an anthem of our time - I love it! It's one of those songs that gets into your head and will NOT leave. Not that you'd want it to, it's flippin' ace! Excellent live too - these boys are the full package! “
EMMA SCOTT – Kerrang! Radio
Reluctant Heroes have been knocking around for the best part of the last decade playing the smokey clubs, (in the days when they were still smokey), of the midlands and generally earning their stripes doing it the hard way. Fast forward to 2008 and they are now a band breaking through with their brand of rock.
The quartet, in "One Time Bomb", have put together a modern day anthem which keeps you hooked from start to finish. Slow to build, with the anguished vocals, guitars and keyboards it hints that it will soon explode into pulsating chorus and it does just that. Jonno Spiers guitar riff leads into Ed Thomas powerful vocals putting the icing on the cake.
This is a very impressive introduction to the band and with their debut album due out soon it looks as though Reluctant Heroes will no longer be playing those smokey venues and get to play nice posh ones.
Neil Richardson - Room Thirteen
"The quartet prove to be a lively bunch, who's spirits infect the audience. Mixed with melodious punk tinged tunes, the Reluctant Heroes set is a entertaining spectacle. nice one."
PENNY GOWER, BLACK VELVET MAGAZINE issue 57
"Musically, ‘One Time Bomb’ echoes The Smiths with musky, murky guitar notes played over a booming bass line.
Vocally however, it is largely more punky, sounding like The Jam with a shout-out chorus and hummed background. In short, it is the kind of smoky rock music you would expect to find in a backstreet pub. But that is no bad thing however, as this is the exact same smoky sound that has brought a legion of fans to many a band.
A blend of old and new that adds elements of classic punk acts like The Clash with more modern groups like Green Day, it reminds you of the anthemic, rebellious nature that such bands as the Sex Pistols and The Clash took on in their songs, reinventing it for a younger generation."
BIRMINGHAM INDEPENDENT
"From the sound of the first chord to the final note, this band exudes the energy levels equal to the big bang, as old punk and modern punk collide to create the sound of that is the Reluctant Heroes.
The Importance of the rock input is an integral part of their sound and the blend of the three styles gives the perfect sound"
ALAN ARC REVIEW
" 'One Time Bomb' by The Reluctant Heroes is a workmanlike indie rocker from The Reluctant Heroes; smart, full of pace and with a few surprises thrown in, it sits with one foot in indie while the other stands squarely in nu-punk."
What makes 'One Time Bomb' stand out from its contemporaries are the well proportioned and generally unexpected 'fills' and the ever-changing time signatures. The attention to detail is also pretty convincing - The Reluctant Heroes seem as though they've got a good handle on dynamics and proportions - they manage to deliver a pretty big sound at times and its all balanced just so!

Raucous pop rock with some fine band interplay...
Subba -Culcha Review
"...something extremely special happens as the song approaches the 1 minute mark, it explodes into such a catchy chorus, so catchy that you will not be shaking the words of this song out of your head for weeks to come, the song is rocky, it has its punk moments and it's sure going to have you throwing your fists in the air whilst you chant along to the ever so catchy chorus...."

Appearing from the boring suburban chav ghetto surroundings of Cannock, the Reluctant Heroes have taken there own approach to music by breaking free from the boring slow coma inducing bands that seem to be spattering the country at this present moment in time.
With influences ranging from the police to led zeppelin, the band create a unique punk edge sound, with huge scoops of melodic hooks which give them the ability to appeal everyone no matter what age or gender, black, white or green.
open your ears and have a listen...
