Red River's perfect blend of heavy metal, groovable guitar riffs, funky slap-bass, dynamic drum beats, and clever, original, and sickening lyrics/vocals, all come together to complete Chicago's most unique new metal band. On tracks like "35 Degrees" and "House of Spoox", lead singer, Spooky sings about the sheer enjoyment of hunting down and murdering another human being and with the pounding musical poetry surrounding the lyrics, one can only imagine such a pleasure. The general rap tone of "Eating Popcorn w/ Judas" is backed by the light groovy verse then is shocked by the distorted chunky chorus, and then an angelic melodic break, only followed by an all out heavy ending fit for the devil. Fan favorites such as "Hey Fuckhead" and "Lagoona Paya" are great examples of the eerie, smoothly heavy, excellently preformed songs that Red River is all about. And with awesome new tunes like "Captain Norman", "No Not Today", and the fantastic "Smokeberry" that will make you go nuts, who knows what kick ass songs are in store next for them. This psychotic harmonic, hellishly heavy, onslaught of crazy noises, funked up bass and mad beats all topped off with the words of a serial killer in the making, will leave you in a daze begging for more.
Going to a Red River show is quite possibly the most interesting and fun things you could do in your life. Witnessing 5 grown men dressed up in crazy costumes such as Santa Claus, reindeer, M&M's, a chef, and plenty of other stage garb like wrestling masks, a werewolf glove, and stripped socks, is hilarious in itself. Then add in awesome stage props like giant scary skulls, Mrs. Claus, Jesus, and druids all dress in black. Don't forget the guys in Red River often provide a plethora of flying objects into the crowd, like pumpkins, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and a ton of other randomly wrapped presents. Throw all these things together and you got your self one hell of a time. Craziness is the only word to describe a Red River concert, with special guest clowns and smashing light bulbs against foreheads, what other word is there to describe that? Loud music, fierce mosh pits, and a wholesome snack is the premium entertainment that only Red River can provide. So go enjoy yourself and see a Red River show!!!

My favorite Red River memory: Driving out to Valpo at "The Venue" and subsequently getting lost, and then seeing all the Rocky Horror people come out during the end of the show cuz they were doing a floor show later that night
