Bio
Remora Deign is a band with a name that mostly everyone mispronounces. In case you're curious, its pronounced "Re-MORE-Uh DANE." :)
Remora Deign was conceived in very early 2004 by bassist Ben Milliron (Bass), and Kyle Hoffman (Guitar, Vocals). The two have been playing together for awhile in other projects, and have outstanding musical chemistry together. They began playing as many shows as possible, though this was always a challenge as all of the members always lived quite far away from eachother. Several months later, they had enough time and money to record their first album titled "Red Skies and Lullabies." The band was very excited to complete this project, and once it was finished, their excitement transformed into disappointment. They realized that the album did not live up to their personal expectations, and knew there were many aspects of their music that they wanted to revamp. The band marched on. They kept writing, playing, and never giving up, though the challenges only escalated further, due to all of the current members attending different colleges.
Over the years a few line-up changes were made due to school and/or other personal reasons. Finally in 2007 the band released their newest album titled "Catharsis" even through the hardships of some line-up changes mid-recording and the always pressing matter of funding. At around that same time in 2007, the band was able recruit the talent of Garth Porter on drums. Kyle and Garth have begun playing music together since around the age of 12 when they started playing their instruments, so this was an awesome and easy addition.
The band has been very happy playing as a trio and has plans for two more up and coming albums. The third album is written and will feature a more acoustically oriented sound. The fourth album is still in the writing process and will be a high-energy electric album. No release date (or even a rough time frame) has been established for either album, but we'll try to get them out as soon as our busy school/work schedules will allow. You can, however, hear songs from these future albums when you come to see Remora Deign live!
