Renae Brennen is a folksinger and songwriter from Melbourne, Australia.
She has been writing and performing her own songs for over ten years and draws on a wide range of musical influences, including folk, country and the blues. Renae’s compelling voice and robust guitar style give her performances a passionate and infectious flavour.
With a vocal ability to express strength and humour or vulnerability and pain in equal measure, Renae creates an instant connection with listeners as she explores the joys of love, the pain of loss, and the importance of faith and finding the strength to pick yourself back up again.
Combined with lyrics that are honest, direct and sometimes defiant, Renae’s music reflects her strong belief in the power of song.
Renae is concentrating on getting an EP recorded this year and doing as many live performances as possible.

Wondering if you still organise the open mic at the Elwood? Looks like I could be heading off to the states soon, (Slip'n away, you might say). Did the open mic at hardies, twas a buzz, so I thought I come and freak out the patrons down there.

Hi Renae. I've had some time off line, but I'm back, and I just want to ask: Is Elwood Lounge still happening on Wednesday nights? I would love to come down and meet everyone, now that I've got myself and the kids organised! Susan
