Kelly "Kels" Rogers
Lead vocals, drums, guitar, percussion & songwriter.
Led by the multi-talented whiskey-soaked vocals of Kelly “Kels” Rogers (She plays guitar, hand percussion, and get's down "Arangatang" style on the drums) with the smooth-as-silk rhymes of Kayatta “Kaepea” Patton, local original and cover band, RWCB ("Rendezvous w/ Cool Beans") effortlessly blend the sweetest sounds of rock, blues, funk, soul and hip-hop.
The band rounds itself into a rough thing of beauty with Crystal Rivas’ sexy bass lines, "Uncle" Max Perry’s sweet leading guitar licks (Whom sometimes turns in the axe to play some funky bass lines), Lisa “La La” Peterson’s infectiously smooth vocals, the warm and consistant back-up harmonies of Jennifer Fritz and Christian St. Croíx’s rasp-dusted growl. With Rachel “Sticks” Montano’s hard-hitting turn on the drums and her killer switch hiting skills on the bass... make this band unstoppable!
Covers include new-style versions of Nirvana's, "Heart Shaped Box," Radiohead's "Creep," 4 Non Blondes, "What's Up", The Beatles' "Come Together," The Cranberries' "Zombie," and Sublime's lift-every-Bic anthem, “Smoke 2 Joints,” remixed with elements from Peggy Lee’s, “Fever.”
The group’s original songs, however, are unstoppable by nature. Kels leads the band into a dusty Spanish guitar-fueled rager "Closed Door,” Kaepea takes her turn burning hotter than the sun on the message-laced stomper, “On My Square”, LaLa brings her passionate smooth swagger "4 The Mic," and Christian adds a blow upon a bruise with the naughty acoustic-rock thumper, "I Want Your Boyfriend."
The bands new full length cd, "The Gig" features 13 original RWCB's songs. The popular bass pounding"Pop Your Beater", our political So Sick of "Politics" smash and the hilarious lil ditty called "Butt-R-Face," are featured on the cd and on our website @ www.myspace.com/rendezvousliveband. The bands website @ www.musicforhire.org will giver further details to the various services that we offer (lessons, dj, studio recordings, etc..). The songs and the cd "The Gig" are available at any of our shows, The Beat and online at: iTunes, CdBaby, Digstation, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc...
The band’s gained quite the following in Northern CA, Bay area, and NV, having been invited to play the Equality/Anti Prop 8 rallies on the steps of the California State Capital, Sacramento’s prestigious Rainbow Festival, Reno's PRIDE Festival, as well as various other venues, both roadhouse and sophisticate.
