Born and raised in Chicago, Renee started her comedy career at the world renound Second City. A conservatory graduate, she continued her comedic education at Improv Olympic and The Annoyance Theater. Continuing to be a part of writing and performing with several Chicago sketch groups, Renee expanded her comedic skills by taking on stand up comedy. After only 6 months, Renee won 2 stand up competitions and was one of the first female comics to be asked to join underground comedy coalitions. A member of Second City’s first ever House Ensemble Improv team, one of three females to be a part of Chicago Underground Comedy, Renee co-founded SpitFire, The Comedy Broad Squad. Renee has been mentioned in the Chicago Tribune as a "stand out", in The Chicago Reader as "chatty and fun", and received an editorial in the comedy section of Time Out Magazine. Up until October 2006, Renee was a frequent performer at Zanies, Chicago and Schaumburg, IL, Improv. Now residing in LA, Renee has been seen on several LA underground stages, along with the famous Laugh Factory, Comedy Store, Ha Ha Comedy Caf.., and the Ontario Improv. I learned how to breakdance with two street dancers... Turbo, Ozone, and I decided to challenge the system of dance and ended up making a ballet audition with street dancing...
When I was a teenager I moved to Chicago, the daughter of a Army Captain, I was in Catholic school and befriended a wild girl who loved velcro... Being a dancer and gymnast I went against my fathers wishes and auditioned for Dance TV.... I ran into a a Jewish American princess with alot of money and a big ol' attitude...Made it to the finals and paired up with a public school boy who had a hell of a wave in his hair... Dreamy as could be I fell in love with in spite of our differences... Against all odds, We won, with a catchy dance routine.. my father caught me but once he saw me do my flips and turns he shook his fist, not with anger but with pride...
