Renkah sounds like Renkah however her music (English French) touches on various subjects and always brings a wind of hope. Like, Tracy Chapman, Celine Dion, Beyonce and Alicia Keys, music allows her to freely express her self as the lyrics she writes reflect real life experiences and challenges common to many of us.
Since her early childhood she has always demonstrated a strong attraction toward the Performing Arts and her involvement in classical, jazz, and Hip-Hop dance classes, only reinforced her appreciation for music. By the time she was 12 years old, she knew that she wanted to be an entertainer and at that point realized that music was her true passion. For many years she devoted her time to the "Little Heart of Angel" choir, and as the lead vocalist she will brighten the Sunday services. Under the advice of her parents, Renkah enrolled in Goethe Institute where she learned how to play the flute. Her dedication to this new instrument was rewarded in 1997 and 1998 by a panel of international judges as she received the first prize in both contests. In 1997 Renkah featured in "Ecoute Cette Zic", collaboration with a French rap group, which topped the chart in the Ivory Coast. Similarly her work with "M¨¦nage a Trois" was a success in France and exposed her to a wider audience. In 1998, she made her first solo appearance as a dancer and singer at the African Music Awards. The following year she was given the opportunity to host a TV show dedicated to the promotion and support of underground Hip-Hop artists; the show, "Rap Attack", took place in the capital of Ivory Coast and was broadcast nationally. Those first experiences as an entertainer revived her passion, and strengthened her desire to be part of the music and performing industry. With this dream deeply rooted in her heart, Renkah moved to the U.S. in 2001 and, hoping to launch her singing career, became a member of the Music Institute in Hollywood where she had the privilege to participate in the 2003 LA Talent Academy. During the Football season 2004 and 2005 she was given the honor to sing the Star-Spangled banner" at Santa Monica College. The uniqueness of Renkah's voices resides in the natural vibrato that surrounds her vocals. Her honey glazed voice makes her sound friendly yet very much nature. Her tones are sentimental, poignant, theatrical and earnest. Furthermore, her ability to sing in French and English adds to her already astonishing potential. Though she found her inspiration in divas such as Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, Renkah was influenced by a variety of musical styles and artists from jazz to pop music, from Billy Holiday to Alicia Keys. Renkah truly loves to perform and use her God-given talents to express herself and communicate her messages to her audience.
